This sick government
www.themirror.co.uk/disability benefit
I totally certain that this government is really sinking to low depth in cutting back on disability benefit. They have told a guy from Lincoln, depends on a heart monitor to keep him alive, and is waiting for a new heart, has been told by the benefit people that as he was able to walk into the assessment centre unaided, but he was carrying his heart monitor, that keeps him alive. His benefit was stopped, and told to find a job. What is so annoying is that this comes a day after myself watching Question Time last night and hearing that this government do not know how many illegal immigrants there are in this country and many immigrants are claiming benefits and sending them back home. This government should pick on the people that are claiming benefits that they have no rights to, before picking on sick people that deserve what benefits they can get. |

he never went to the interview? he must have had his money stopped for something else? he hasn't been classed as fit for work? ---------- Post added at 17:23 ---------- Previous post was at 17:18 ---------- The way I see this is that it isn't about getting people back into work at all. it's just to downgrade people into a catagory that pays less. they don't expect these people to work even. they know these people won't work. and there's a very big chance that they will never be given a job interview to attend. it's just all about cutting money. and hoping that they don't appeal. otherwise the benefit will be reinstated in a high percentage of cases. |
Re: This sick government
I fully expect to fail my assessment, but I definitely plan to appeal. Then there's the new PiP to think about and I've just read the govt's criteria for people with sight problems with that.

Yep they are sick, shame people are just realising it.
I brought up recently their immigration changes.. Which are always controversial, as most people see an migration problem, see the government fixing it and say great they have reduced immigration... Less foreigners and support it. But then you dig your nail in just below the surface and start seeing that there are also lots of innocent british people being effected by them... And the changes are opening some foreign workers up to things like... Verbal, physical, sexual abuse and Slavery. But unless you open your eyes and realise what is "actually" going on and stop listening to government you realise the truth. |

And we all know that's the game. you take them off it and hope they accept it. knowing full well that somebody will have a very different opinion to the person who is supposed to be a professional assessor. and reinstate what you took away. if the decision is the right one in the first place. then why are so many of them being proved to be wrong? it's all a load of bull really. it would be a whole lot cheaper if they just come out with what the whole point of all this is about and just announce that all benefits are to be cut by a certain percentage. and not spend billions on the same goal? |
Re: This sick government
I am on an indefinite award yup.

Re: This sick government
A report I read is that a lot of people are filling in the ESA50 form incorrectly to start with. Along with not supplying any/enough evidence to back up their claims. The ESA50 form is nothing like any other, you can't just open it up and fill it in without getting all the help possible.
If you do your homework, get advice on how to fill in the forms, get as many letters from your GPs, consultants, carers etc as you can, write a week's diary of what you have to go through, letters from close friends that know you etc, then you have a much better chance of getting the award you're after. |
