replacement router

Hello, as my superhub needs constantly rebooting I was wondering to use just as a modem an attach this router from Linksys.
Smart Wi-Fi Router EA6500 as anyone tried and opinions on this model ?

Thank you.

you have beat me to it dude. I always recommend Linksys to everyone because they are awesome and you'll struggle to find any (Linksys or otherwise) which will beat it because the 6500 is top of the range. If you have got the money to get it then great because it is always nice to future proof but I would seriously consider your needs and think whether you could get away with another model.

Do not go for a 802.11ac Router as 802.11ac is still in development and the final version of it may not be compatible with the current 2.0 Draft and there is only one wireless Adapter at the moment for 802.11ac The NETGEAR Dual-Band Wireless AC USB 2.0 Adapter but its a USB 2.0 so the top speed will be 480Mbit/s so not Gigabit yet.

Draft 4.0 Is currently under development Standard finalization is in late 2012, with final 802.11 Working Group approval in late 2013

There is also the D-Link DWA-182 wireless USB adapter but it too uses USB 2.0 so is limited to 480Mbit/s.

that apparently has two antenna and dual band ,etc ...

Re: replacement router

and given their track record with the current shub (still fixing issues 2 years later) why would you expect shub2 to be any better? You are digging your own grave dude.

Netgear make the shubs so I am never buying a Netgear router. I have never had a problem with Linksys so in my mind Linksys = solid performance, reliability and all round goodness

Netgear make the Super Hub's how Virgin tell them to make them.

they are equally responsible and equally as guilty. They could have always turned around and said "we are not going to produce and put out name to a piece of poo"

the firmware issue has been a joke! they should at least get that on point.

Re: replacement router

If the shub 2 is up and running and there arent any problems if i was vm i would knock shub 1 on the head and call it a day and send everyone a shub 2. It is good pr, gives everyone a new up to date toy and it will save them the cost in this constant firmware nonsense
