Any love for android?

Hi all,

First time poster so be gentle please!

Can anyone offer and suggestions or info on the us android TiVo app, i have it installed on my phone but have never been able to make it work like all those lucky so and so's with iDevices! I have TiVo commander and it works well (until next week when virgin media screw all their loyal customers) but i'd like to experience the official android TiVo app!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated;-)

TACky

Don't think the US app works, wrong type of TiVo over here. VM are supposed to be developing something but, going on past experience, it won't appear anytime soon. TiVo Commander was excellent, so excellent it embarrassed VM, so they killed it (and made some cobblers up about 'stability').

You could try this app. It's not as good as TiVo Commander but will control TiVo if that's what you need.

So we now know who MB's insider is, then? ;)

Sorry didn't know this was a VM staff forum and where no criticism of VM is tolerated. Maybe you should confine this to your intranet, as is means very little to us mere mortals ;) MB?

Getting back to the point. Hopefully the OP now has something to play with in the absence of TiVo Commander which VM have knackered - something successfully done anyway.

It's not, but that doesn't mean that you can post stuff like…

…and not get called on it.

Re: Any love for android?

Why should he get called on it, as far as i can tell i was about the first person to install TiVo commander in the UK and find it working, i posted this fact on vm official forum at the time, I've had it installed for over two months with no issues at all, no stability problems, in fact its worked flawlessly and bearing in mind what TiVo customers are like i haven't heard one complaint about stability issues with TiVo commander! They moan about absolutely everything else so if there were stability problems why are there no threads dedicated to it?

We all know that VM have downgraded the TiVo to limit this functionality as it makes them look like chumps! Frankly im getting sick of waiting for vm to come good on their promises! Worse still i have recently had a number of posts deleted by the mods on the official forums, no explanation was forthcoming, just stated that the post broke the rules, didn't say which rules and there was nothing in the post that was rude, just stating facts about my treatment at the hands of vm! The company has lost its way!

Why shouldn't he get called on it? He is stating that VM were embarrassed by it and killed it off as a result. He is stating that as fact, whereas he well knows that the only people who know why VM updated their software are VM themselves.

I see your point, but this is after all a forum and i read all posts as opinion unless there is a link to factual evidence, after all these forums are for people to give their options are they not? Or are the net nazis taking up residence?

So nobody can challenge an opinion being stated as fact? :erm:

As i stated before i don't read that as a statement of fact! This is a forum anything written without reference to factual evidence should be treated as opinion, its a conversation, i happen to think vm pulled it as they had no choice, vm probably received the update from TiVo and had no choice but to implement it as was! But i respect the mans option enough to listen to it, i guarantee you this, i wouldn't jump all over him if he said something i didn't like, i might state my option afterwards but i wouldn't behave like a 13 year old school girl bullying the outspoken girl who refuses to follow the crowd!

It is, as you say, a forum. For discussion. People don't always agree, and even opinions can sometimes be challenged. That is part of discussion.

People are free to express pretty much whatever opinion they want, pro or anti vm. They might get challenged if they present opinion or speculation as fact.
