Grind to almost a halt
Happened just 30 minutes ago, speed has ground to almost a halt, takes about a minute to load up any page. Anyone knows of any local fault?
|

Re: Grind to almost a halt
Phoned 150 and there is a fault in my area, power level not right he says, so a fault has been raised, since then the speed has recovered somewhat but not like it was before. Has given me £5 off !!!
The https://my.virginmedia.com/faults/service-status can't even recognise my VM phone number !!! I got this " We don't recognise this phone number. Please re-enter your full Virgin Media home phone number", are they joking??? |
Re: Grind to almost a halt
what equipment do you have mate, an old stand alone modem or the hub? if you've got an old modem call up again and get support to send you out a hub.
post up your power levels > login to 192.168.100.1.. it'll be in advanced settings then connection if you've got a hub. if you've got a standard modem it'll be on the down and up pages I think. take out your MAC address before posting info ---------- Post added at 16:32 ---------- Previous post was at 16:31 ---------- Quote:

Re: Grind to almost a halt
I have a old modem, no superhub for me after reading the horror stories here. Up and down power here:
Downstream Lock : Locked Downstream Channel Id : 87 Downstream Frequency : 298750000 Hz Downstream Modulation : QAM256 Downstream Symbol Rate : 6952 Ksym/sec Downstream Interleave Depth : taps12Increment17 Downstream Receive Power Level : 0.3 dBmV Downstream SNR : 40.1 dBUpstream: Upstream Lock : Locked Upstream Channel ID : 5 Upstream Frequency : 45800000 Hz Upstream Modulation : QPSK Upstream Symbol Rate : 5120 Ksym/sec Upstream transmit Power Level : 54.7 dBmV Upstream Mini-Slot Size : 4 and yes I did put in my full phone number including area code |
Re: Grind to almost a halt
the horror is over mate. anyway you don't necessarily need the SuperHub, you can however get the standard VM Hub which isn't bad, I'd recommend it :)
your up is high, did the agent book a tech to come round yours? not sure about the number, try your account number or post code. |
Re: Grind to almost a halt
no, I 'll get them another ring tomorrow if it does not get up to full speed. Speed is still up and down at the moment.
Do you mean the Superhub is better now? They offered me 30M connection and to reduced my bill if I moved to 30M but I said no because of the superhub reputation. |
Re: Grind to almost a halt
incompetence by or should I say with all accounts. I know VM save money offshore but please open centres over here improving the business and the UK!
to be blunt your watching paint dry mate. you need a tech booked to come out to you ---------- Post added at 16:54 ---------- Previous post was at 16:50 ---------- Quote:
