Edinburgh Connection Issues
Hi all,
In EH5 - been having issues with dropping connection for last 2 days, when I check the status page all it says is there is disrupted service that will affect me accessing the my virgin media section of the site - nothing about connection issues in any detail. Anyone else with the same issue? |
Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues
whats ur stats?

Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues
Yes. See here.
http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/12...e-page-17.html Something in the backhaul/core routing is borked. It's happening again this evening: http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/s...12-08-2011.png Thats monitoring the gateway, not my personal connection, so it's affecting a whole load of people. |
Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues
Im in EH11 and on 50Meg, today the speeds have been around 4Meg. Stable but slooow But whats been happening the past couple of days? Raining. Always happens when it rains hard enough.
|
Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues
You might have a point there, maybe it's the heavy rain breaking some of the links somewhere.
|
Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues
Seems to be working now, getting a solid 50Meg now. Let's hope its not just cos ir's 4am.

Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues
Cheers for feedback guys!

Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues
Like I said, the problem's only in the evenings...

Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues
Pretty much the same pattern as qasdfdsaq posted earlier. This is the "live" graph and the minimum ping times are gradually getting worse over the course of the evening. By 2am they'll drop back to their usual steady line I bet.
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/s...13-08-2011.png Speedtest reported 1.5Mb, a quick blast on Usenet ran at 31.9Mb so Lord knows what's going on  Edit: "Live" as in it only updates when you refresh the image :D |
Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues
How longs this going to last?

Re: Edinburgh Connection Issues
Hi lads, first post.
I am in EH4 and for the last 2 days my 50mb connection has been running between 3 and 10mb. I only noticed because i stream Sky SPorts through my xbox and the quality kept changing from really sharp to really blurry so i decided to speed test. I have had a lot of issues in this area lately and it's getting really frustrating. Tried to phone Virgin but it was mega busy. Anyone heard anything? |
