Quick question on digibox

I know you used to be able to do this but can you get a non virgin digibox to receive the free channels when you give your equipment back.

p.s. i'll still have their BB service.

We don't allow discussions of illegal activities on this forum. Only equipment supplied by Virgin Media and for which the appropriate subscriptions are paid can be used to receive the TV service.

No services are receivable without a VM supplied box, card and account. Only when all three match will the channels work. Since Nagra 3 encryption there are no 3rd party boxes that will work (even just to receive BBC1/2/ITV/C4/5)

Also connection of 3rd party equipment to the network is against VM's terms and conditions as well as being theft of services hence even if it was possible (which it isn't) we don't tend to allow discussion ;)

M pack is no longer promoted or available to new tv customers (Customer Relations can add an existing TV customer downgrading under some circumstances). M+ is the lowest you can get now.

If we are not allowed to discuss such things, Can I just ask why is this thread still going?

Re: Quick question on digibox

The items not to be discussed are how to get services without a subscription or via non-VM supplied equipment.

The thread is still open as the topic has not gone in that direction.

OK thank you for the clarification on the subject.

NP's

It must be confusing to a lot of people with the M (free) package vanishing and I'm very surprised that VM don't do a freeview style service (even if they charged for transfering the service from subscription to freeview)

RobboEdin made rather rash decision that this would involve illegal activity - however it does not

talk about innocent until proven guilty ;)

I thought the OP was an existing customer (he's got broadband) - does that mean he can get VM freebie TV

They had it for a while, but seemed to of decided it wasn't worthwhile. They've allowed some existing TV customers to downgrade to it, so it's easy to upgrade at a later date.

They don't usually like fully disconnecting the tv package.

My 'rashness' was based on the words used by the OP - 'non virgin digibox'.
