Good way to Keep customers

Just Rang virgin to see when my contract was up and found out it was 5 days time. Im wanting to cancel my tv service with them, as i had an offer from sky for Sky World HD half price for 12 months on a 12 month contract. All rententions had to say was "sky do have some good deals at the moment". She really didnt seem to care and didnt evan try and convince me to stay, whats all that about

I think that it is all due to the advisor that you get though to? I would try again and see what is said this time, As If they offer you something they will be able to report the person that you spoke to before as they will have to note the account.

Hope this helps you?

What did you want from them? Would you have kept the tv if they made you a retentions offer?

I mainly rang to find out when my contract was up. IT really would have depended on the offer they made, I dont mind virgins tv line up etc but sky offering everything including sports , movies and hd for a little of £30 a month it would have had to something good. The advisor was freindly cannot fault that. Just she didnt give two monkeys if i cancelled tv or not which i found strange

I expect retentions get fed up with everyone on the planet just about to run out of contract, and if you dont match what i've just been offered which is twice as much for half the price from the competition, then i'm off. Its about time they said ok goodbye then as most of us pay full whack for what we get minus discounts and are long term customers not fare dodgers, who once they jump ship then proceed to read the small print on their new contract and realise its not that great after all and then want to come back.

You may find the discount of half price for Sky World is only on the Sky World itself which is 54.00 full price = 27.00 +10.25 HD so your total would be 37.25 just check. Still a good price for 50+ HD channels .

They probably didn't have a similar offer for you, so couldn't match it for you?

Yes i appreciate times and money are hard, but you can only drop the prices so much, before you know it the company has gone out of business, which is what the competition wants, and the competition at the moment must be drastically subsidising these discounts to attract customers from virgin.
