100mb Superhub I REGRET UPGRADING

ive just come off the phone to vm,

i started my phone journey at 18:00 with the mind of getting gt5 on the ps3 to connect without lag, discconection from games or have problems connecting to games, ive found that the superhub firewall cannot be disabled, nor can the dmz or the port forwarder open any ports, this is because its netgear, they have always had soddy fw that never does as its told!!!

why change something that ant broke, why cant i have the 50mb modem back on the 100mb service, it is possible and i would only contact vm if my line goes down (feel like im askin for abit more responability off my dad) im a big boy and can look after my network, the super hub cant look after my network because if you dont want jitter on your connection you have to disable ip flood protection, so its not secure

eather hurry up with the fw update with the modem only option (the modem option may have a firewall attacted to it tho :( )
or give me a 100mb modem

this has made me regret letting go of my 50mb modem

Firewall is under the services menu, it runs better disabled

well yes, like i said you untick the firewall but its still there, try and open a port on your superhub and see if you can open it, ive had 5 vmdh teckys not able to do it tho one said ports dont exist on a pc

IP flood protection doesn't make your network insecure, it's a pointless piece of excrement feature.

To be perfectly honest all the firewall features on the hub are pointless.

Well I have been able to use torrents, game online with my ps3 and xbox 360 with no connection issues.

gt5 has probs with it, when i use to have the modem i plugged it in and prob solved, gt5 is funny over firewalls unlike other games like cod, it has to have an open port or your connection is unreliable

point it you cannot open port, disable firewall or dmz, so i want a modem instead

the superhub is a bottleneck

Me too , ping was awful before I turned ip flood detection off but now no issues at all , wireless range not quite as good but on the whole very pleased :)

Edit : do run my ps3 in the dmz though but did on my other router too

Re: 100mb Superhub I REGRET UPGRADING

you wont, like me everything else is good (web, p2p, streaming) but when it comes to gt5 it plays up

dont you see what i am saying, the superhub features dont work as they should, try block a port or open one, you cant because the hub does not do as it should, a bottleneck

---------- Post added at 21:12 ---------- Previous post was at 21:07 ----------

has anyone tested the dmz to see if it does allow the connection to be open/unfirewalled????

is nobody interested or have i got a faulty superhub???

can anybody get the dmz to work as it should and tested it???

it wont due to NAT.

you would have to also DMZ to somewhere to show open ports.

Re: 100mb Superhub I REGRET UPGRADING

in the end i cannot play gt5 correctly through the super hub, ive dmzed the ps3

on my old setup i use to dmz but the firewall on the router would need switching off or port forwarded, would work a dream

now is it possible to get a modem, save all this headack because gt5 plays up through the superhub, dont even think the modem only update with fix it because netgear fw is buggy

---------- Post added at 21:52 ---------- Previous post was at 21:41 ----------

Masque is it possible to have a modem only setup, you know as well as i theres no reason why it cant happern, even if i said i want to go down to 50mb they wouldent give me a modem

wish i never opened my mouth, would be playing gt5 online without problems

---------- Post added at 22:17 ---------- Previous post was at 21:52 ----------

just been looking online and it seems that one or two other ps3 titles suffer this problem, most other games are unaffected

can nobody help, even just to set it up in the superhub, ive done all the normal setting no firewall/ip flood protection, linked the ps3 to an ip, forwarded all the psn ports with dmz to the ps3 as well, with all them settings it should act like im connected to a modem but gt5 still plays up with these settings
