New Labour just can't stop spinning...

As if we didn't know:

Part of me wants them to win the next election so they carry the can for what they've done but on the other hand every moment these people are in power the worse our predicament gets.

If the intellectual, moral and ethical midgets of the liebour party get returned, even with a minority government, I expect the markets to pounce on Britain like a shark on an injured swimmer.... The markets believe that another 5 years of Liebour will weaken Sterling, further damage the UK's credit rating, and sink the country further into debt with more borrowing....

If Liebour return, they will nail the coffin lid on the UK for several generations.... If the Tories get in, we'll just be mighty screwed for at least 5 years....

They are absolutely incapable of telling the truth.

Speaking of spin, I wonder how these five General Election pledges are going to be measured?
Quote:

secure the economy, make it hi-tech, raise living standards, protect services, and strengthen community fairness
Sorry to be pedantic, but can we just score these five so far:-

secure the economy - epic fail
make it hi-tech - mmmm, Government IT Programmes have such a good record, and they're cutting spend on IT (see article below)
raise living standards - see "secure the economy", as one follows the other
protect services - with the cuts promised, I wonder how? (see Guardian Budget article below)
strengthen community fairness - meaningless verbiage that can't be measured

Guardian

The government announced in its November pre-budget report that it would be finding annual £11bn savings in spending across Whitehall but, until today, had not revealed precise plans.

The cabinet minister making the largest trim to his budget was the health secretary, Andy Burnham, who offered up more than a third of the total savings, cutting £4.35bn. He said his department could save £1.5bn by driving down the cost of procurement, £100m from IT programmes, £60m from reducing energy consumption and £555m by reducing staff sickness and absence.

Other notable cuts include £1.1bn from Ed Balls's Department for Children, Schools and Families, £431m from the Ministry of Justice, which will include the closure of 20 magistrates courts, and £700m from the politically sensitive Ministry of Defence budget

what some call spin i call a blatant lie, this bunch of liars have long past the time when they could recall telling the truth, it just comes naturally after a while. i mean why tell the truth to the idiots who support your total ineptitude, best to keep the plebs misinformed and paint a rosy picture that there little brains can handle ,chuck in the odd rant about the torys being the party of the rich ie[any one with a couple of devalued labour quid] and the numptys lap it up and start growling its all thatchers fault ,well its not its your fault for voting for these prats.

I'm looking forward to seeing Labour lose at the elections. Gordon will go down in history as the muppet who destroyed the country.
and he wasn't even elected as the one to do the job.

but he was the holder of the public purse for many years ,pity he held it upside down and all the coins fell out- then of course toady went of to eurotopia and left ratty and badger to finish off destroying the country.

Yet more hollow meaningless pledges from the masters of lies and spin which you can be sure will go exactly the same way as the others they've made over the last 13 years.

Typical of New Labour to claim that the cuts they've finally and reluctantly admitted they're going to have to make won't actually impact on our major frontline services. No doubt the high tech economy they're going to build will benefit from that wonderful intergrated transport system Prescott built for us during the good old days when the tax receipts were rolling in...

After all they've done they still have the audacity to bang on about fairness. What on earth do they know about that concept!!

Don't worry about that, New Labour have given us 13 years worth of failure and the worst recession in decades as ammunition so I dare say that'll feature large for quite some time..... :D

Tell you what, why don't you and Flyboy start a thread dedicated to all those New Labour successes. Since it seems you're a supporter you're ideally placed to educate us as to why we should vote for more of the same.

I'm not a Tory voter, I'm a New Labour hater. Neither do I have blue hair or any relations that do. I voted for Bliar and have regretted it ever since. I don't know who I'll be voting for this time as the other 2 major parties both have policies which worry me. Having said that I'd happily vote for almost anyone if that helps to get shot of Brown and his cronies.

Still waiting for the "Why we should vote for Brown" thread BTW. You'd have thought with all those successs stories to boast about such a challenge would be gratefully received but for some strange reason that seems not to be the case...

Care in the community fails another mentally challenged citizen.... So sad....

Oh, and to clarify for you. As I live in Norn Iron, I don't get to vote for the Tories, Liebour, or the Lib Dems.... On the other hand, being on the outside allows me to see Liebour without the socialist dogma that blinds Liebour supporters to their betrayal. Not just of their core voters, but their betrayal of all the people in Great Britain....

I,m not doing personal insults :D I,m insulting you all, but you cant help yourselves. I find your spouting laughable but in my quiet periods i just can't fathom why your continuous threads about why the multi millionaire down with the kids Davey Boy Cameron will make things any better ? Has he got a magic stick or maybe some amazing blue custard that his going to shower the country with ? Remember Conservative = Rich getting richer and sod the rest.

Re: New Labour just can't stop spinning...

It just gets better and better - Lord Mandelson has accused Osborne and Cameron of lacking the "bravery, bottle and backbone" to lead the country, because in their professional lives, they have never had to fight for anything.

This is rich from a man who has been a professional politician all his life except for a brief spell at LWTV, getting dodgy loans from millionaire friends, and whose previous boss was a boarder at Fettes and attended Oxford, like Lord Mandelson - must be a new definition of "deprived" I hadn't come across before.

They must be getting desperate, resorting to personal attacks from senior Labour politicians.
