50 crap down to 3meg CAPPED
 

ok had 50 meg for a 2 weeks as soon as i download it maxes my connection then slowly drops down to a discusting 3meg after phoneing vm they said its all fine they said it was where i was downloading from y it was slow they then told me giganews must have a fault BS it can max 50mb easy so i try a torrent from a very good site with 300 seeds guess what downloads at 300kb very nice for a 50meg connection .im then told im not in a test area as there the only 50mb to be STM so how or why am i being blocked my styats r below can some1 take a look or post there stats to compare this is [Mod Edit (Rob M)] me off now and to prove it i will do a screen video as soon as i hit 3gig DOWNLOAD my SPEED DROPS

I have NEVER been capped on my 50 meg. I did 1.3 terabyte last month on it and it was solid at 48 meg all the time ?.

I downloaded a blue ray linux disk this morning ;) and this is my speed at the moment

Having said that i never ever use torrents they are just to big of a security risk. Newsgroups all the way for me.

The is no capping on 50Mb and the above bold figures are the correct figures for 50Mb and at present the is definitely no STM on 50Mb.

The issues you are having are probably down to a fault on the system so try calling tomorrow after 0800 to try and get a UK call centre who will be able to help you.

The is no STM on 50Mb at the present time as to do so would be commercial suicide while rolling it out.

Actually, it was this very comment by VM Customer Services this morning that put me off upgrading – the emphasis seemed to be on ‘at present’, which left me wondering how long it would be until STM would be implemented on the 50 MB package.

The is no STM or STM trials on 50Mb at the present time, if the was and even if it was just a trial, they would have to inform the customers in the areas affected.

I have no ideas what will happen in the future regards STM on 50Mb as everything else that has been posted by people is pure supposition and scaremongering.

Neil said there will be STM once the take up of 50MB has peaked. words to that affect. so they'll have to start trialling soon I would have thought to test it out.

As you say they'll inform the customers in the areas affected.

they didn't used to tell people before about trials. so that's a good move by them.

Doubtful that they would bring out STM on 50Mb while they are in the process of rolling it out as that would make people have second thoughts about upgrading to 50Mb and they want to people to upgrade as 50Mb is a cash cow.
