Hi Pete, to the forum.
Before anyone can help you could you give us a little more information. What VM set top box do you have, is it a standard V box or a V+? What cable are you using between your VM set top box and your TV. ie. scart, HDMI etc |

Re: Recording from VM set top box
Good point piggy. I'm not a technical whiz so I just assumed that as it had 2 scarts it would also record from an external source.

The STB is a Pace. What cable are you using between your VM set top box and your TV. ie. scart, HDMI etc Scart __________________ .... |
Re: Recording from VM set top box
As piggy has pointed out it does not appear that you can use your Freeview DVDr to record off any external source such as your VM Pace box.
You will need to connect the pace and DVDr to use with your TV independently. Do you still need advise as to connecting your bits.? |

Re: Recording from VM set top box
Sorry if this is a silly question but I try to grab any knowledge where ever possible.:D
I've been looking at the manual and it shows one RGB video input and one CBVS video input would these be able to solve the OPs recording needs.? Would both these scart options be usable with a Pace stb? |
Re: Recording from VM set top box
Yes Please.Help on Connecting would be great

Re: Recording from VM set top box
I'm a frayed knot. It just has two SCARTs with passthrough from one to the other, much like V+ does. It doesn't mean you can record from them.
The manual actually makes it fairly clear where it says "Important Note: It is not possible to record from external equipment connected to the AUX SCART socket" |
Re: Recording from VM set top box
I have ploughed through the instruction manual and, as spiderplant has confirmed, you will not be able to use your DVDr to record from your Pace stb
To get the DVDr connected you will need to connect a 2nd scart lead from the right hand scart socket on the back of the DVDr to your TV then follow the First Time Installation instructions in your user manual. |
Re: Recording from VM set top box
Right thanks for the reply.
I will give that a go just now. |
Re: Recording from VM set top box
Thanks to those that replied .I have connected the additional Scart lead as suggested by
joglynne but all that gives me is the freeiew channls on AV1 AND AV2. I am really stuck now , but will keep trying to get it set up or try and sell it. Thanks all Pete |
