Re: new mobo
If money is not a problem then go for the full monty. The first one

Re: new mobo
am i right in thinking that i can use my x-fi pci-e sound card in the middle pci-e slot as it has a smaller coonection

Re: new mobo
As long as it does'nt interfere with the fans on the graphics card. If it's a tight fit then it could interefere with the air flow. That would cause one of your cards to over heat which is not an option.

Re: new mobo
the moneyt isnt that much of a problem really but what do you think of the evga board as it is quite allot cheaper for pretty much the same thing
|
Re: new mobo
when your over clocking the northbrige on the mb would get hot so you would need a third party cooler. Thats the evga board. So if your buying a new mb and then haveing to spend money on it to get it to do what you want proplery. Something is wrong
---------- Post added at 11:15 ---------- Previous post was at 11:06 ---------- The first board is better specs has a higher front side bus. More options in the bios ect. More controll over what you want to do. If your gonna clock like hell. You might have to be looking at the water cooling option. I don't know too much on this subject only from what iv'e read. The overclockers forum is very good on mb's for help ect. |
Re: new mobo
does it crash at stock?

Re: new mobo
it di yesterday after playing a game for abit and then straight in to watching a film that is while running sli i really think it, is a heat issue with me graphics cards as they are that close together, that you couldnt get a thin piece of cardboard between them. i need to see what it is like when i get home in an hour as i have left, it on a continuos 3dmark 06 run it quoted 8 hours to complete i think, so should still be running if not then it would make me take out one of me cards till i get a new mobo. and then a third party nb hs fan for the new mobo

Re: new mobo
ok guys i've bought the asus formula striker 2 and it is still not stable even with the side of with the desktop, fan pointing in to the case i still get blue screen saying hardware malfunction contact system vendor. when oc'd to 3.0ghz i got a blue screen saying something about, cpu interupt failed and timed out or something like that have the latest bios on it, but think im just gonna give up trying to overclock.

Re: new mobo
So its still unstable at stock? could be something else wrong here then have you tried swapping the cards over? maybe there is a fault with one of the gfx?
