Storms battering parts of Britain

I'm in Manchester , i was working today and it was crazy ,probably 80 mph+ winds then the next second loads of hail thundered down then amasing flashes of lightning,still going on now not ass bad.I hope it calms down as i bought a motorbike from some guy in leeds :P

did you go out in the winds last year (same time roughly as now). considering they were swirling winds, walking in it made you look rather silly, one second you'd be fighting a head wind trying to move, the next you'd be trying to stop yourself fall flat on your face :p:

Went down to Cheltenham very early doors this morning and it was pretty horrendous: gales, sleet, spray, standing water and idiots in 4x4s still doing a ton in the fast lane. Set out at about 11 to come back home and it was pretty pleasant all the way home although a tad windy.

Indeed. Whilst out at work last night I caught the midnight shipping forecast on R4 forecasting gale force 10>violent storm force 11 from St Davids head to the north channel,winds SW > NW

This was what had obviously blown inland by this morning.

Very bad in Leeds still gales, sleet, snow and a bit of thunder and lightening thrown in for good measure and in between it all we have had sunshine lol

This just about covers how windy it is in the north west atm - I'm also in a 14 storey towerblock, which feels like its rocking :rolleyes:

Flew back into Belfast from Cardiff at 9pm tonight, very very bumpy on the way in, bit scary at times

Blowing a gale here, nice sat at the pc with the patio door 'just' open enough to enjoy it, but closed 'just' enough to keep it out :D
