Re: New Seven Wonders of the World
I'm a little surprised by #2 (which really doesn't look that impressive to me). I'm also surprised that the pyramids and Angkor didn't make the list. Angkor Wat itself is pretty impressive, but with all the other temples that make up the complex it is without a doubt the most impressive thing (structure wise) I've seen in my life. We spent 5 day there. Four days visiting the main temples, one day to revisit the really special ones, and one day visiting the 'outlying temples'. I'd go back at the drop of a hat.
Some nice photos here |

I'm glad Chichen Itza made the list... Its an amazing place and well worth visiting. Sad that Stonehenge didn't make it.

Re: New Seven Wonders of the World
I dont know why they dont just scrap the whole 'seven' thing and go for a higher number like 8 or 9.

Re: New Seven Wonders of the World
Frankly mankind hasn't anything on mother nature. As far as I'm concerned the seven wonders of the world are all natural..There's the Grand Canyon to name one...She's also a better sculptor and artist as well. :)

I think Petra is probably the best of the lot in that list.
Anyone remember what the original 7 wonders were? |
