the bundle deals don't include all my services

Been a telewest customer (well my dad has since me and my girlfriend share a house with my ol' man) since they changed their name from Cable & Wireless.
We had a ton of hassle when the broadband was installed as the 2 'engineers' decided to have a staple gun fight in our front garden which cost Telewest a new tire for my dads car and a visit/personal appology from some head of engineers.
Me dad has also complained recently about the pic freezing every few mins on a lot of the channels, the blokes have been out and redone the cable from the street to our house as it was originally skewed under next doors garden and the guy next door had accidentally damaged it when gardening, so we now have a totally seperate cable under the egde of our garden. Still the pic freezes up a lot. Telewest refused 3 times to change the tv box and said it was down to the channels themselves not their equipment. They posted a new remote to us but it made no difference and me dads getting fed up of paying premium for a service which keeps freezing up (I get no probs on my broadband tho).

Looked at their bundle deals and there doesnt seem to be one that gives us the services we need.

At the mo we use
Basic phone at £11

XL tv at £20.50 (me dad loves his Discovery, Performane ch. etc but the majority of stuff on other channels, he doesnt watch but can't get the stuff he does want without this package)

and L 4mb broadband at £25.00

£56.50 without call charges, which are a coupla quid or so.
Our bill usually ends up being slightly less than £60 PM.

Is there no way we could get this bill down a bit?
Theres no 3 for £30 without us dropping both the broadband and TV service down.

I also wouldnt mind another set top box for my room cos my freeview reception is pretty bad. weird Q, does anyone have the dimensions for the current set top boxes. for space in my tv unit.
Anyone help us out as to whether as a long time customer we could sort out a new bundle deal or whether theres no choice but to pay the premium price on all three services.

Any help appreciated before I ring up on his behalf to try to haggle.

You could take the 3 for £30 offer and you should be able to pay an extra £9 a month for the XL TV package. They should give you this choice when you ring up because it's the price difference between the L and XL TV package.

The latest Cable Set Top Box is the Samsung SMT 2110c:
https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2007/04/18.jpg
The dimensions are: 310(W) x 225(D) x 53(H)

It isn't guaranteed you will get this box. You will get whatever box the engineer has in his van. The other boxes are slightly bigger.

Hope this helps. :) :tu:

:welcome: to the forum BTW!

I have read somewhere else on here that you just add the price diff of the packages you require.

e.g

3 for 30

upgrade L tv to XL tv add 10 pounds

upgrade M broadband to L broadband 7 pounds

total:

Bundle would then Be XL tv, L (4mb) broadband, Phone for 47.00 pounds.

Mike

Too slow again.

cheers for the welcome.

Yeah I just read on another thread you can add the difference in service to the £30 bundle deal.

Would like a definite confirmation of that if anyone knows.

If I add another set top box before end of feb its free install, correct, which would take us to £55.50 before calls.

which is almost where we stand today.

who would I need to speak to, or can I do it via the web?

It's best to call CS and see what price they give you for your bundle. Good luck. :tu:

Yes, you can upgrade any of the deals for the difference in the costs.

So 3 for £30 plus £7 for broadband L and £9 for TV XL = £46.

Denied.
Was told since I already HAVE the basic phone/4mb broadband/xl tv and I'm not upgrading anything, as an existing customer I cannot have the 3 for £30 deal and pay the difference.
the only think I could do is upgrade my phone to talk unlimited making my bill £60, and keeping my existing services.

Can't cut my bill unless I downgrade a service.
waste of time

That sucks - I thought all the deals were available to new and existing customers?

I would try again if I was you, you should be able to get the deal whether you're a new customer or an existing customer.

I did this about a year ago now. I was paying for my services separately but then why I noticed ntls value packs I told them I would like to move to that instead. The next month I was saving about £20 quid on my bill but I had the same services. I thought it was great! :)

It's up to you at the end of the day but maybe you will get someone better on the phone if you ring up again. Good luck..... keep us posted....

rang up again around 12.15pm and spoke to a nice gent who told me it WAS possible but then put me on hold while he confirmed, and i got cut off.
so far I haven't been re-connected since calling back straight away and waiting, hanging up, trying again and again.
am still on hold as I type.

The most frustrating thing about CS is they never seem to be singing from the same songsheet. If you don't get what you want, call again and you seem to get through to someone who gives it to you!

OK I got sorted.
Waited almost 25 mins on hold.
the guy who'd cut me off had sorted out a deal but needed confirmation so the lady I spoke to third time sorted it out.

Moved from
XL tv/4mb BB/Basic Phone at £56.50
to
XL tv/4mb BB/Talk unlimited phone/extra set top box no install charge at £51.45

Also she took down a complaint about the unhelpful 1st lady I spoke to and was generally very helpful.
So thanks for advising me to call again
