California crab is 'fussy lover'

So I should think!Must make sure the batchelor pad is clean and tidy. ;)

The average fiddler female, however, will inspect about 23 potential suitors and their bachelor pads before selecting a lucky winner. One especially hard to please female visited 106 male burrows, fully entering 15 of them, during her one hour and six minute search.

Interesting. Much of the female and male behaviour mimicks that of humans. Male crab stands outside burrow v male human postures outside Mercedes. Females who are a bit on the large side having to reduce their expectations, though in the crab world this is because of practicalities as opposed to, in the human world, prejudice and narcissism.

Yes but the difference is that in the crab's case the female does the asking and the blokes have to do the showing off. :)

And in both the crab and human worlds, it's the female with the power to break hearts ;)

I wonder if the female crab, after looking at dozens of burrows and trying them out for size, returns to the first one she looked at ;)

How about this for a crab then? If she approached you (the crab) you'd do what ever she wanted....wouldn't you?
