"VOD from January 18th" -- Digitalspy

As he says, it's unconfirmed, but James is usually pretty accurate with his sources.

My bet in Langley areas first, with Bromley following after a software update, but I've been wrong before...

If I remember rightly is was going to be Glasgow first, but things may have changed since then :) Both areas will require a software update for this, so its probalbly going to be rolled out at the same time across both platforms :)

I believe the majority of Celtic areas have had VoD kit installed in headends, but don't quote me on that... I think Jan 18th is a little bit optimistic, though, going on what information I've seen.

They might do Glasgow, Belfast and then wales first as they did with CR3.

Re: "VOD from January 18th" -- Digitalspy

But CR3 was Swansea, Cardiff, Belfast then Glasgow. (I think. Glasgow was certainly one of the last areas)

As it is anyone involved will have non-disclosure agreements coming from every orifice so I wouldn't expect any official news anytime soon.

I never said that would be the order but possibly those areas will be among the first when/if we see it arrive.

Do any of you have a clue as in the timescale of the rollout to most areas? Or any areas that have the 'kit' installed in them?

Well according to some people over on DSpy the boxes are getting updated with new software now.

And I'll bet you're rebooting your box like crazy, eh, Dezzo? ;)

Yes for some pace boxes but still the actual launch could be a few weeks away.

Thanks for the article - explains nicely......be interesting to see the pricing - you would hope it would be one of these things that starts high and as more people use it the price comes down.......

this all sounds good but there still isn't any real details as to what will be available.. i.e can i download corrie and eastenders if i miss it in pure digital format ?

still at least it seems like NTL are finally starting to move forwards with what they were planning this year rather than just the usual "coming soon"..

if VODs on the way when is PVR functionality ?

There will be marketing coming soon for all customers around the launch time.

PVR should be here by the end of the year.
