Broadband Plus (FREE)
 

Just had a NICE chap from NTL ringing me up. He said I could get Broadband Plus free for 3 Months. But because I am on 150KB they will give me 600KB free for 1 month.

(Sorry if this has already been posted) But I am new here. (lol)

Sounds like a ploy to get you to upgrade to 600k to me, as I though BB + was free to everyone for the first 3 months anyway?

I suppose you could say that it was a ploy but because of the content in BB+ it would not work well, if at all, on the 150k hence the reason it is only offered with 600k or 1mb .

Never thought you were so no offence taken at all, was just trying to explain to others why it is only available to 600k or 1mb customers.

Well free 600KB upgrade is not bad. I will of course CANCEL at 29 days.. :naughty:

The only SNAG is, NTL cant find my Modem details... (This happened 16 months ago. NTL had my details mixed up with another member). Oh well, Good old NTL :zzz:

The problem is though 'JM', is that you won't want to go back to 150k after experiencing 600k (& this of course, is what ntl are hoping for)

I see what you are saying. But I would still be happy to go back to my 64KB @ £6 PCM. I dont use any P2P (full of Virus & stuff) so I cant see the point of having 600KB or 1MB with the way the internet is going (Fines for getting Illegal MP3 & Vids)

Thats my 2p worth. I do like a fast speed for webdesign & stuff. But I am in NO rush. Can wait another 30 min for a few files I send.

Will enjoy the 600KB (if NTL can find my account) for FREE & see how it goes.

you cant go back to the 64 k service , it dont exist anymore , or at least it shouldnt :eek: , the lowest speed is 150 k :)

and dont forget boys and girls once you are buzzing along at 600 or 1000 , you wont want to go back to 150 , it will feel like dial up on mogadon , clever marketing ploy by ntl i reckon :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:

I went back from a 2 month 600k free trial(organised by that nice chap Craig J)last year because I couldn't afford it.

Its all relative. With all respect to those on a fixed/limited income:

600K is 4x faster than 150K for less than the price of a pint a week.

i am on a low fixed income and my 600k is now my friday nights down the pub
still a bit of downgraded canibis and a cup of strong tea feels the same :rofl:

I use 500k ADSL at work for all my download needs and am quite happy to surf at home at 150k. For general surfing I hardly notice the difference. Most of the time any "lag" in site loading is server side anyway.
