What do you mean by take it back in time?

System Restore should work in XP unless you have it turned off like me.

You should also be able to access it via the Help and support option on the start menu.

Look under Pick a task....

See screenshot

When you are on the 'restore point' screen can you click on the arrowhead to the left of 'January 2004'?

I click on the little arrows at the side of January 04 but nothing happens it just stays on January.

Sometime System restore points are deleted. For eg. Running out of disk space, upgrading your operating system, Disk cleanup....

See here for more details.

Why do you need to take it back to then? If you tell us the problem your having maybe we can all put are heads together and fix it without the need to use system restore, which is a sledge hammer to crack a nut at the best of times.

Outlook Exprees won't keep my passwords, I got in touch with Microsoft last year and this is what we did to sort the problem out.
