Anyone know of a free downloadable ad blocker?

Hi, does anyone know on here where i can download a good ad blocker? It has to
  • block banner ads
  • block pop ups

If anyone has any good recommendations let me know by posting replies.

Provided you're on a single computer, the following is quite effective against banners and can be used (I think) in conjunction with a popup blocker.

looks like google wins then ;) but you could have a look at
http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/
excellent browser beats ie hands down and blocks all the junk you find when surfing.

Hi WNA, try this code:

Code:

<html>
<head>
<title>Welcome</title>
</head>
<body bgcolor= "66FFCCAA">
<div align="center"><h1><font face="arial" font color= "0000FF">WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE</font></h1>
<p><a href="http://www.nicka.demon.co.uk/main.html">CLICK HERE TO ENTER</a></p>
<img src="http://www.nicka.demon.co.uk/images/Wayne 003.jpg" width="100" height="110" alt="Wayne 003">
</div>
</body>
</html>

Also you may want to try reducing the size of the Wane 003.jpg image, it's 639KB at the moment, and you're only showing it tiny on the page.
Reduce the width to 100 and height 110 in a graphics program (Paint Shop Pro or IrfanView I think can do it)

spywareblaster
stops spyware being put on your 'puter. I used to get 20-30 bits of spyware when I scanned with ad-aware. Now I get 0 or 1!

The browser in Mozilla & firebird are the same.
And it looks 100% fine in my Mozilla as well.
Also looks fine in Opera & Netscape

It's probably cached in your browser, empty your local cache and try again (cant remember how you do that in Mozilla, but it's in options somewhere)

www.myie2.com a wrapper for IE with too many great features to mention, but here's two.

1) Create a proxy list and choose which one to use, no browser restart needed.
2) One heck of an ad/popup killer,easily customisable

www.proxomitron.info
a pretty darn good FREE multipurpose proxy, ad, popup and web filtering, control program
