ntl use what is known as a "transparent" proxy, basically its a mid-way point between you, and the internet, it gets the webpages for you, then transmits them to you, in thoery, its quicker than not using one, in reality its hit and miss, anyway, some proxys are faster than others, and by setting them manually, you can often sort browsing issues, like the one you currently have.

Nope, it times out for me too. I'm using bagu-cache-6.server.ntli.net proxy.

Works OK for me.

Not sure what NTL proxy I'm on as I sit behind a proxy firewall of my own and all the tools pick that one up.

I think one of the baguley ones from memory of when I didn't have my own.

Just used that proxy to test that site and it works fine here in Luton area.
