The whole headend or just an essential rack?

The headend contains all the equipment required to distribute the signals to the area served by it.
I'd be extremely surprised if the entire headend is down, they will have a UPS. However if something within an essential rack fails and takes out the breaker feeding its electricity then these outages happen. I'd guess either the ATM switch is down or its the rack containing the equipment which distributes to the hub sites.

There is a powercut in the area and the UPS has not kicked in. All hubsites fed from luton are effected. LU MK SG postcodes.

The switch is on battery backup.

If the UPS is knacked then the whole area is at the mercy of the local electrickery board!
Every bump could take out equipment.
Lets hope everything comes back on ok!
