Speaker Leads?

Hi All,
Trying to find some Speaker Leads for a stereo system i want to put on Ebay.
I`ve asked Jeeves and Googled and looked on the Sony website but still can`t find them!!!:dozey:
It`s a Sony MHC-W25 and the speaker leads plug into the back of the stereo
via keyed inputs rather like the type of connecter you would find on your Home DVD player.
Any help would be really appreciated. PS: I`ve already looked on www.maplin.co.uk
;)
Cheers.

What, the Elton John Song quote? I could do, But Why?
Don`t you like the song? ;) Just looked on the guidelines and can`t see anything about length of sig.:dunce:
Why are you actually asking me to reduce the size of the sig? I`m not being pedantic, i was just wondering. :)

Is there any chance you can post a link to the connectors themselves as its not easy to help without knowing what were talking about :)

I know you said you'd looked on Maplin, but does the connector look like this, by any chance? :)

(lousy pic, tho)

POP into Maplins I am sure they have it in if you ask them.

I know I have not found a connector they do not stock or are not able to get.

I would expect speakers to be non-proprietary. Clean copper wires should be acceptable. If that's not the case Maplins should be able to help, but it would be a big thumbs down to Sony. I mean, how would you hook up a pair of non-Sony speakers to this system?

I think that's the idea... you don't.

I'd second if not third the notion of taking it to Maplins, they know their stuff.

- our (reasonably) local Maplins has a 'bloke at the back' who is fairly clued up on stuff, try there before danielf wakes up :) :p: :D

Well, I can't find details of the MHC-W25, but the '55 has standard spring loaded speaker terminals, so I don't think the '25 will be any different (especially as properiatory connectors are likely to cost Sony more and would offer no real benefits unless they were to offer a range of different speakers for you to buy). To insert the wire, just push the button, and push the wire in the hole. Red is Positive, Black is negative.

Seen something similar somewhere, give me chance to think. May be worth still just taking it to Maplins though.

Wait, mine's similar on an old Aiwa, but not that shape. Split input for L + R though.
