Well, that psisrndr.ax file is a part of Direct X by the look of it. You could try reinstalling that.

Apart from that i havent a clue mate.

Also try Start->Run dxdiag to make sure all your files are OK.

Just my IDEA
Windows Media Center will NOT allow just "ANY" TV Card/USB Device, You need a MCE Approved One. (I used to work on MCE)

So either look on eBay for MCE TV Cards (PCI) ones. Or Get XP Not MCE, :disturbd:

Re: Dvb T Freevieww Pc Stick Heeeeelp Please

Yeah but it shouldnt crash on attempt, most just wont show, and youre perfectly able to use an incompatible TV Tuner and its own software on MCE as its just XP Pro with extras :) And I beleive Dilligaf has this device :)

It says on the specs (If your OS is MicrosoftÂÂÂà ‚® MCE 2005, you have to use Media Center
Edition 2005 Certificated graphics card.)

how could i work around this ?

but there website also says

The most exciting thing is KWorld DVB-T355U Dongle is compatible with Windows Media Center Edition (MCE)! Besides, KWorldDVB-T355U Dongle bundled with DVB-T PLUS, which allows you to pause live TV and continue from where you left with the Time-Shifting function. Moreover

Re: Dvb T Freevieww Pc Stick Heeeeelp Please

Yeah Jedi has the answer. The stick you bought doesn't support MCE. If you have to use USb then send it back and try one of these http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/85336/rb/19539438770
Edit: hmm yeah is does say it supports it. What graphics card do you have? ATi by any chance? Have you tried updating the drivers for your card using the latest MCE drivers?

Media Center Receiver Service has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

right , first up, that file is BDA MPEG2 Transport Information
Filter,0x00600000,1,0,psisrndr.ax,6.05.0001.0900

so the good news is, its using BDA drivers as default and thats good.

forget about MCE and use any No. of 3rd party apps that can work with BDA such as
http://jtvlan.netsons.org/howto.php
to control WebScheduler and stream the raw .ts over the lan to any VLC PC or even Xbox.
http://www.digtv.no-ip.com/webscheduler/

use XMLTV GUI Grabber http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/ to get your tv listings, run the app and copy the data.xml into the \WebScheduler\data\xmltv\ dir and point your browser to
http://192.168.0.whatever:8429/servl...aRes?action=16
change the file source to data\xmltv if its not already and submit.

if you intend trying to see the world cup in the HD BBC/ITV/C4/channel5 trials then your going to need a really good CPU and copy of the new MBAFF enabled CoreAVC AVC/H.264 decoder soon to be released and a monitor able to display the x1088i output or perhaps one of those 'HD ready' GPU's with the right connector to a HD ready TV.

see http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...&page=40&pp=25 for were we are all hanging out trying this new HD stuff.

if your not within range of the london trial transmitters than the only other option is a DVB-S(2) card or perhaps a DVB-C card if your in the NTL/Tw bit and getting the down converted
(and hence loosing quality) to mpeg2 .ts.

---------- Post added at 19:24 ---------- Previous post was at 19:16 ----------

ohh and the card is listed here
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php...pe=post&id=9766
but like i said forget MS and use something far better and 3rd party.

ohh and make sure you use the cards drivers and not any drivers than MS might try and
make you use in the auto install bit.

use http://www.eecs.umich.edu/~balazer/H...2_v1.11.87.zip
to edit your saved .ts files and convert to dvd compatible mpeg2
or just use VLC and/or MPC to play the .ts direct.

But what if he wants to use MS (some do!)? Still doesn't solve the fact the product should work with MCE and doesn't.

true, but as i said , BDA drivers means many 3rd party apps will work with it, so use one of them to get it working for normal DVB-T tv .ts then perhaps it can be sorted for the
MS stuff, its well documented that many MS drivers knobble these BDA DVB-T cards in some way, due to the fact that the MCE stuff was written for the US IPTV markets and needs serious re-writes for EU hardware etc.............

get it working with WebScheduler and see were he stands then.

Hi silly.
the DVB-T PLUS sounds like your default TV app
so yea, in that sence you can just plug it in and use it, the tv app that is, it seems you may have installed the MC drivers
rather than the default drivers that came on the cd, you tryed my option yet?.

im off to other thinks soon so be quick :)

Re: Dvb T Freevieww Pc Stick Heeeeelp Please

Personally, I would start again from the beginning.

i.e. uninstall all software & hardware associated with the DVB-T stick.

Reboot the computer & then re-install the software on the cd.

Then, assuming Paul is in a Freeview ok area, plugging in the stick should initialise the DVB-T Plus program, which should then run through the channel search routine.

If the DVB-T Plus software isn't kicking in when the stick is inserted, then I'd assume the software isn't installed correctly.

I don't know anything about 'media centre' editions of XP, but I imagine Paul would have had other problems if his graphics card wasn't compatible with the OS - in fact he mentioned that installing drivers for the USB stick stopped him being able to 'play live TV', so I guess he already has a media card installed, and is trying to install the DVB-T stick, as well???

I'm thinking you should install the drivers first - then plug in the stick ???

Re: Dvb T Freevieww Pc Stick Heeeeelp Please

so your 1 mile from CP transmitters, you should be set for HD WC after the coreAVC comes out.

how new to this pc upgrading stuff are you paul ?.

do you have a 'USB Digital TV Receiver' entry in your device manager 'sound, video and game controllers' or something like it at least?.

if so, right click the entry, update driver, click not at this time, next, install from a list..., next, browse, find the dir on the cd with the right drivers in it,next.

if it does not find the driver, click back and keep trying different dirs until it does.

i assuming its already got the right TV app installed so we just need to find the right driver for the card
and you should be set, i want to know what your device manager thinks is there though

Just a Quick Idea...... Could you use your Existing TV Card (Hauppauge) & connect a Free View Box to that? Via the Red/Yellow/White?

This PC you had... Did you buy it as a MCE? or was it XP Home/Pro & you Updated to MCE?

popper 03-06-2006 14:20

Re: Dvb T Freevieww Pc Stick Heeeeelp Please

sure he could, but it would be a wast and he would get far werse picture quality that way.

for instance you dont even need a device driver with Dscaler as the TV app, if your Analog Tv card is in its internal driver pack, and indeed id advise anyone with such a card to use Dscaler as its drivers are by far the best you can find.

the old wincinema 'winDVR3.0' is the only tv app that can capture in full 720x576 mpeg2 on an AMDxp2400+ without dropping frames, so thats another option.

but at the end of the day, the DVB-T is by far the best option as your machine does not need to be able to re-code or mess with old analog inputs as its already digital mpeg2/AVC and AC3 sound inside a .ts stream, so he really needs to follow my step by step to get that info, and perhaps fix the issue, or just forget it , i cant keep typeing help if people cant be bothered to read and answer some stuff.

it appears he's really new to this PC upgrading and over welmed with it and thats fine, but without trying, it will never fall in place and click, so over to you..................

popper 03-06-2006 19:36

Re: Dvb T Freevieww Pc Stick Heeeeelp Please

nope, if you re-read above , it appears you may have installed DVB-T drivers that windows update have asked you to install rather than the driver that came on the CD and presumably will work with the USB stick.

you need to be sure you uninstalled the drivers preperly and do not let MS certifyed drivers get installed instead of these cd drivers.

if your not sure just pick the xp drivers on your cd.

Bare in mind that the folder and file names ending in ~1 have been shortened for MS-DOS 8.3 Compatibility so a folder called "My Documents" could be shortened to MYDOCU~1.

Re: Dvb T Freevieww Pc Stick Heeeeelp Please

right, lets give this one more try.

the reason your seeing that error is probably because your OS thinks its now got the device installed and is trying to start the app and failing.

what we need from you is:
what entry is now in your device manager.
it will be in 'sound, video and game controllers' as per my #18.

what files are on your USB DVB-T cd , to make that easyer for you, do this:

go here and grab and install
http://www.freecommander.com/index_en.htm

start FC up and point it to the cd drive letter.
highlight it, then goto the 'folder' option at the top and
select 'make folder list' the option will default to c:\FileList.txt

in the other window click c: and find the c:\FileList.txt double click it and that file will load into notepad, select all that text and copy it and past it into your next post here so we can see
what files you might use to get this thing working.

at some point you are going to delete the device in the device manager BUT NOT UNTIL we know what it is (so tell us, as iv already said)or risk killing/removing the wrong thing so at your own risk as usual.

if the c:\FileList.txt is very long then you might need to refine
the file but usually a normal cd contents are limited so shouldnt be a problem.

you might as well put that ppcompat.txt here too, frominside FC click c:
again 'file' click search and put that ppcompat.txt into the box, when found double click that and again it will load into a notepad, as above copy/past.

i see 'the others' didnt bother to type up their thoughts, shame.
the good news is that list looks really simple, and you only have 1 driver suitable for your machine to choose so thats good.

we or rather i, seeing as noone else seems available to help, need to get you used to getting to, and useing the device manager, as that is probably the most used section of windows for trouble shooting etc, so its something you need to be able to do for this problem and in the future too.

do this:
click start, click control pannel, double click system, click hardware, click
device manager (in sp2 its at the top, in xp/sp1 its second down),open the window
full so you can see al the entrys.

just for interest:
are all the entrys + or is there any red or yellow expanded - entrys ?, if so
they need looking at sometime.
click 'sound,video and game controllers'

bingo, we should now be able to see your USB DVB-T device listed there.
in my case, as said before, its 'usb digital tv receiver' and its not got any red
or yellow problems, yours might have embda or simular as part of its name at a
guess, thats the full name im after.

i dont use 'Free commander' usually, i prefer 'windows/total commander'
but iv just noticed if you click the far right blue computer icon
it opens a window with the device manager icon you can also click to ger there
quicker, but use get used to the old standard windows way at some point.
-----------------------------------------------------
AFTER you have become happy about getting to your device manager and finding that
problem DVB device and type it name here then and only then
should you worry about the next bit.
these are the files you need to concentrate on, nothing else is
importent.

-------------------
you might be in luck as i am, in that, usually the driver dir does not have
one of those 'SetupDrv.exe', and in my case the BDA drivers i use for my cheap
yuan USB card that file allows me to install AND uninstall just the driver, and
leaves the tv app alone, so lets hope its the same for you too.
usually people only have the option to unstall/uninstall the whole driver and app
at the same time, the file above will make it a little simpler to uninstall , and
by that i dont just mean delete the copyed files but also remove the registry
entries (you dont need to know about them at this point usually being so new).
im going to assume at this point, that you have managed to get to the Device
manager and can see what looks like a valid and working entry for the DVB-T and
will post its name next post.
double click it,click driver, click driver details.
1:
you should see several something.sys files after
c:\\windows\system32\*
with the words BDA somethng (in my case bdaln.ax,BDA_capture_220.sys and
BdaSup.sys)
2:
IF the files do not match your files above
emBDA.sys, emPRP.ax, emAudio.sys, emOEM.sys then its pritty clear the MS update
has installed its BDA drivers and there lies the problem probably.
got that?.
i like to right click driver .info files to pre-install them, and for you (i
think everyone should use these 2 pannel file managers like fv and W/total
commander)the easyest way is to start up 'free commander',
click Extras, click settings, click view, and finally click 'show hidden files'
keep in mind, the novice user shouldnt really be seeing much less deleteing or
otherwise mesing about with these hidden files, so keep that in mind, and realise
your doing this just incase we need to go into the windows dir and hidden sub
dir's to see and copy over files if need be later, notice theres loads of
apparent junk files/dirs inwindows dir, LEAVE THEM ALONE, its not a problem, but
would be if you deleted the wrong one.

right to pre-install the cd drivers:
goto E:\USB_350U
and right click emaudio.inf, select 'install', do the same for embda.inf, thats
it, and hopefully that will copy the right files to the right windows dirs, but
not yet add the right entrys into that weard widows registry yet, that will
happen when the unknown device (twice)finds the right drivers this time.
got that so far ?.
by now you should have been able to find the device name or perhaps 2 names if
your DVB uses 2 devices, one for video, one for audio, mine has just 1 and works
fine.
if as per 1: and they do match the files names in your cd drivers bit, then i still
need to know.

is that clearer?

you need to tell me your info the same info my ntl website url is showing you.

if you want to grab screen pictures just get the screen as you want it , device manager with options
showing, and the driver file details, then press the print screen, sys rq key, load up paint
'start, all programs, accessories, paint'
and press ctrl+V and that grab will be placed inside paint, save it as a jpg and sent me a link to it or
email me the pictures.

you can work it out from my ntl url above and add @ntlworld.com

yes, it's an analogue card

- attaching the pic is done by 'manage attachments' in the 'advanced' reply dialogue (which is usually default for a quoted post, but not a quick reply)

- you supply the path/s for the upload/s & click upload, then when done close that window & submit the post, as usual - it should load with the thumbnails :)

right, that confirms that your BDA drivers ARE installed and seem to be using the currect CD versions, its not conclusive as you didnt click one or all of the BDA *sys to say the version no. but its good enouth.

SO the problem must be the TV app, i take it the 'DVBT Plus' app is the tv app?.

what does that 'Emmon' do?, i assume its for monitoring BDA streams or something, anyway, to continue.

are you plugging in a known good house tv arial into the card so as to be sure its getting the full strengh digital signal ?.

we might need to find another BDA tv app to install and see if you can then tune the channels in etc, iv found an MS related fix in my travels for linux DVB info, but i dont think its related to your problem so we will leave that out for now.
(funny how i said that in the beginning LOL)

LOL. no just coffee, so did you try the 'DVBT Plus' app ? what does it do?, tell me ........... crash, trys to start the tv but ?....

---------- Post added at 23:34 ---------- Previous post was at 23:30 ----------

im really not sure if these files are the CD versions or not, i could go into detail as to why but i wont yet.......

im trying to find an easy winamp BDA tv plugin as winamp works on just about everything , even if i hate its look and the way it doesnt seem to diplay the tv in proper spec, but its an easy install and will at least tell us if the current suspect/or not drivers are at least working with a 3rd party BDA tv app.

brb

ps and of course i typed HL were i should have typed HA ,bloody kids and their PC games LOL.

---------- Post added at 23:49 ---------- Previous post was at 23:34 ----------

right go here and get the free winamp
http://www.winamp.com/player/
install it but dont reset when it asks yet.

go here and get the in_tv_1.9beta13.exe 355.48 KBhttp://www.tv-plugin.com/img/leer.gif
http://www.tv-plugin.com/index.php?id=4,0,0,1,0,0

install it.

and here
http://www.tv-plugin.com/index.php?id=7,0,0,1,0,0
and get http://www.tv-plugin.com/download.php?id=515,33,1
uk tv file.

now restart the pc.

start winamp, click options, preferences, plugins, input, double click winamp tv,channels, scan transponder list, and point it to that uk tv file you also downloaded.

after you have installed that, you should see several entrys for the DVB tv channels, just click the set as playlist and you SHOULD be set to click and change channels etc, is that easy enough to follow?, im hopeing that it should work and you now have DVB tv?.

i thought that was clear enough, no?.
your loading that UK.tpl with its channel tuning stuff in it...

AND YOU STILL havent told me what that 'DVBT Plus' DOES/IS....

RIGHT, forget that one for now, and just try this one
http://www.digtv.no-ip.com/webscheduler/

its not a tv app as such (on its own) with a built-in display etc,but i use it all the time
to stream to lots of networked machines here ,and record tv for later.

grab that, install it, go to the url
http://localhost:8429/settings.html
setup the card by clicking the 'device setup' then the channels
by "you will figure it out!"....

if the drivers are working as per last night, you will see several tv channels, pick one and try an set a small test record going to your biggest drive (i have 40gig of tv right now), oi cant walk you through it as im recording first wave right now and the web app doesnt like it when its asked to do other stuff.

IF you get that far, then use VLC or MPC to playback the saved .ts..
DID IT WORK!

seems noone wants to try and help you other than me :

nope, thats just for analogue/not bda drivers.

i take it you have now played around with your machine a little and can now find and work the likes of administrive tools.

open a cmd and type net start >>c:\service.txt and post the resulting service.txt here.

i still assume that the Media Center Receiver Service is clashing with another BDA service and stopping you using your current app whatever that is right now.

you need to stop that 'Media Center Receiver Service' and just use the one that comes with the app
in my case as already said 'DVB Web Scheduler Service' for my webscheduler app.

AVS TV Box FREE Beta

http://www.avsmedia.com/TVBox/index.aspx
AVS TV Box Beta is a free universal software TV viewer with Personal Video Recorder functionality (PVR) allowing you to schedule TV recordings.

AVS TV Box works with any windows video capture device like satellite, TV and DVB cards, miniDV cameras, web cams, etc.
-----------------------------------------------------------
