Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
although Jordan won't be happy about Dowie going to Charlton i have to say that i and the other fans i know wish him all the luck.. he's a great manager and was never given full support by Jordan who thinks buying one player for £1 million will get you in the prem and then not buying anyone will keep you there
also looks like AJ is on his way too.. he's way better than the rest of the squad and he gave us a season we prob didn't deserve that could have harmed his world cup hopes so all the best it's interesting how when some players go everyone wishes them luck and hopes they do well but when others leave we are glad to see the back of them |
Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
I am not sure I would be happy either, didn't he say his reason for leaving was because his family live up north and he wanted to spend more time with them?
|
Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread

Dowies Charton press conference was invaded by Jordon's lawyers trying to serve him the writ.
|
Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
one of the reasons Dowie gacve for leaving was that his family live in Bolton and he wanted to be closer to them
as he has joined another London cluib a few miles down the road Jordan has issued him with a writ for it can't see it coming to anything really and good luck to Dowie and AJ all the best with your new clubs.. would rather they stayed but can't blame them for moving on might end up with ex player Peter Taylor in charge |

Breaking news, to be shown on BBC Newsnight tonight. Arsenal involved in £1milli on illegal payments to suspect Belgian football club. sounds like Dodgy Dein has got his fingers burned.

Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
I see that arch prankster Rio Ferdinand struck again, this time trying to kidnapp David Beckham considering what nearly happened to his family last year probably not in the best taste, then again is phoning up Wayne Rooney and telling him his dog is dead much better.

the good news is that Kiraly is leaving Palace :D
the bad news is that he said he wants to find a Premiership club a warning goals out to all Premiership managers be on the look out for a guy in baggy trousers pretending to be a goal keeper ;) |

not good news at all. would rather we got Peter Taylor. an ex player and a decent manager.. we need someone who will bring back proper football played on the deck to the club and don't think Souness will do this.. plus he's rubbish :Yikes: Mike Newell has also been mentioned and would welcome him too.. anyone but Souness really |

I like the quote, it will give four more days for international fixture's, I think he is forgeting who pays the wages, not only will clubs lose players to injury they will also lose revenue from gate receipts and prize money, I hope that they tell them to get stuffed or that FIFA can foot the bill, they want the four extra days that much then let them pay for them.

Apparentley Portsmouth are in advanced talks over deals for Nicholas Anelka and Sol Campbell they have also made an opening offer of £10 000 000 for Jermaine Defoe, there is bad news for Pompy fans though, they are about to offer Tony Adams the assistant manager's job.

For united fans, what you think of spending transfer budget on:
Carrick, Riquelme and Ribery? |
Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
i'd take ribery, as he is younger than roman. roman has consistency problems too
and that's coming from an argentina fan |
Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
He makes peter beadsley look attractive.
|
Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
I can see United going for Defoe, Carrick and Ribery, apparently he is as good a prospect as Ronaldo.
|
Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
he's hailed as the next zidane, but everyone seems to be the "next <insert name here> these days
|
Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
i think riquelme would shine at united but i would rather we signed carrick first. proven in prem and can only get better playing in midfield along side ronaldo, giggs, scholes, rooney. .
|
Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
Apparently Mohamedou Diarra's agent has told Man Utd he wants £100,00 0 per week, looks like that deals scuppered then.

Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
yeah but i think fergie is trying to create that 4-3-3 formation have rooney and torres flanking a central striker. Torres is goalscorer but really shines in build up play.
with that 3 up top then ronaldo carrick and scholes/riquelme coming from midfield it would be superb XI -----------------VDS----------------- -Neville-----Rio------Vidic-------Heinze -Ronaldo-------Carrick--------Scholes -------Rooney--------Torres---------- ---------------RVN------------------ |

Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
Craig Bellamy is in talks with Liverpool, that could be an interesting transfer, as if Bellamy can be bothered he is top quality, certainly worth a punt a six million.
|
Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
personally i think bellamy is a horrible person and not even that great a player
imagine how bad his personally and how big his head will be if he is at a big club like liverpool.. can't see him fitting in there at all |
Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
As a person he is vile, he has no class. I think going to a massive club where he is not the big fish in the small pond might just sort him out, I hope so anyway, I always think it sad when a footballer waste's their talent.
|
Re: The official close season non-World Cup football gossip/rumour thread
