Funniest Film you ever saw?
 

So what is it then? Im on the look out for some rip roarers to make me giggle and wondered what is the funniest film you ever saw.

For me - its The Big Lebowski, had myself and 2 mates in tears and its the only time i've ever stopped a film temporarily as i couldnt watch it for laughing so much. (It was the bit when the marmot came in that did it).

Second was Ace Ventura Pet Detective way back when Jim Carey was unknown (Pre-Mask i think it was) and his antics were still fresh.

Edited to add - Mystery Men wasnt too bad either - Hence the username!

I guess the film that made me laugh most was 'up in smoke' (Cheech and Chong). You've got the be 'in the mood' to appreciate it though ;)

I had a bit of a laughing fit during me my self and irene, I think it was the bit where his nose squeaked.

Also Dogma was funny from start to finish.

I really enjoyed home alone 2 as well :erm:

I have 4 of there films Up in smoke ,Nice dreams,The next movie and Still smoking.Im spend most my days in that kinda mood ;)

Pythons Holy Grail and Life of Brian,any Laural and hardy or Abbot and costello
More modern films Theres something about mary and The wedding crashers

South Park made me laugh - but then I was only really a kid when that was out.

Any others? Well, both Bridget Jones ones were funny, any Monty Python, Ali G... endless really.

Well I was struggling to remember / think but some of these answers are bang on.

I've cried with laughter in two of the 'Home Alone' films...... I mean, criiiiieeeeeed ..lol "HAAaaaaaaryyyyy"

Almost any of the Zucker/Abrams/Zucker films (Airplane, Hot Shots, Hot Shots part deux etc).

Pretty much anything with Leslie Nielsen in... I can't look at the guy without laughing! The Naked Gun was a great trilogy, and if you can get hold of the original Police Squad episodes they are a real treat.

More recently I thought The Wedding Crashers was also very funny.

Agreed - Police Squad was a riot - i still laugh when he hits the bins and have the theme tune as my ring tone.

I also still laugh at the one where he went undercover as a locksmith, and was confronted when he broke into an office...

"Who are you, and how did you get in here?"
"I'm a locksmith... and I'm a locksmith..."

Love it! Even now I can picture the time he drank a urine sample in the lab... and in the film, when a body was found in the water and the white tape outline was just floating there...

I probably laughed at most of the comic films suggested thus far including the Police Acadamy ones and the Carry On's as well.:)

However mostly the times when I've ended up on the floor really peeing myself laughing have been when reading books such as Indecent Exposure or Wilt by Tom Sharpe.Or the Spellsinger books by Alan Dean Foster as well as a few Terry Pratchetts and The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy plus The Stainless Steel Rat series by Harry Harrison(and Bill the Galactic Hero).I think the pictures I see in my mind are much funnier than the ones I see on screen.:D
