Connecting to the internet Via USB
Sorry this might have been already posted but
I am currently using ntl: 250 and I am connected via the ethernet port, but i would like to connect via USB and i have lost the disk could anyone tell me of a website that i can download the driver from? The reason i am doing this is because i only have one ethernet port and i am trying to connect to xbox live. Thank You |
Re: Connecting to the internet Via USB
do bear in mind you can only connect one of USB and Ethernet at the same time.

Re: Connecting to the internet Via USB
Get a router. In the long run it is far easier.

My mate has done it on his...he was round earlier doing it on mine but i couldn't find the disk to load the driver there is only one cable going from the modem and the other one is coming out into the xbox.....Is it possible to get a 2 way modem splitter?

Re: Connecting to the internet Via USB
Your diagram doesn't seem to work well with the formatting.
The only possible way to do this would be to connect as follows: Cable Modem to PC via USB PC with Internet Connection Sharing to Xbox via ethernet. Is this what you are trying to achieve? Oh and the driver download.... http://homepage.ntlworld.com/triage/...ntlhome250.zip |

Re: Connecting to the internet Via USB
Just buy a router, they are well cheap nowadays. Aint worth the hassle fannying around with ICS.

Re: Connecting to the internet Via USB
Ok... I think enough people have suggested buying a router now for paulus to know that is the best idea, now shall we deal with the actual question that is raised?
This should be a good place to start... follow the instructions and let us know how it goes. |
Re: Connecting to the internet Via USB
I agree with the router idea, I imagine you can get all sorts of ploss / lag problems if the pc starts to stall whilst its sharing the connection.

Re: Connecting to the internet Via USB
When it asks for the CD point it in the direction of where you have the drivers stored
|
Re: Connecting to the internet Via USB
the results I got from the remote help session , said your connection was fine, the drivers installed ok and the web pages loaded. I know that limited or no connection notice is annoying, but the fact that we could use remote and install the drivers and load web pages remotely makes me think that thats fine, if you need more info about sharing the connection with the xbox msg me, and I will do my best.
