Think it's something to do witht he exclamation mark, cos the link is right...

Edit: Yup, even though the exclamation mark is there when you open the link, it opens it without it... strange. Copy and paste the link into your browser and it will work. Else go to t3 and go to the news section. Basically US Mags are saying that the PS3 is going to be priced at £225.

no chance in hell, blue ray dvd players are over or around a thousand dollars, the PS3 will come with this out of the box, im betting £399-£499 price tag

I'd be amazed if it launched anywhere near that price, especially if that included a 60Gb hard Drive - I admit that whatever price they sell it at, it'd probably be making a loss, but I'd imagine a price of at least 300....

ues it will come with a 60gb hard drive ken kutaragi the mastermind behing the first two playstations has told developers to work with the hard drive in mind.

Game are taking pre-interest enquiries/lists now for PS3, 60 gig version for £420, or so they tell me, got my name down for one!

The price is crazy.
If anyone followed E3 you will have seen how Nintendo stole the show.
The price of the Wii will be a lot more realistic (around £179 or less).

Slightly off-topic ;) but, having finally got some extra cash, I went and bought a 360 on Saturday. Having handed over my card and paid just over 300 quid, the guy on the till then asked if I would like to pre-order a PS3 :disturbd:

He looked a bit miffed wheh I just looked at him for 30 seconds, and then asked 'why on earth would I want to do that?' - I'm gonna have to wait at least 6 months before I'm allowed to get one of them :D

I wonder if there will be the same ebay scrum for PS3's as with 360's last year. If you're lucky the profit on a PS3 might pay for the 360 ;)

Had two 360's die on me, so not impressed, hoping better things with the new PS3, but meanwhile, saving up for the new Sony Bravia X-series, as it's the only one with full HD 1080 "1920x1080p panel, displays up to 6.2 MegaPixel resolution".

Tickles me with people paying these prices, give it a few month and they will be in every shop for £199 with a game pad and memory card :rofl:

I don't see why, i've had 500 hours of entertainment out of mine and will prolly have another 500 (if not more) before it drops in price. They are talking post Xmas before they drop the price now. 8p an hour entertainment that makes it, i'm quite happy paying early. I wouldn't have played any of the last gen games that much.

I think I will get a 360. I will wait for them to go down in price first and get all the stuff I want for it such as wireless remotes, media control, god scart cable, xbox live gold and a wireless adapter.

Hopefully the 360 will be improved by then as well as all bugs and fixed. I might wait for the models with the 65mm chip

Wonder if people will realise (not!) that the quality of PS3 games are just the same as Xbox360 games but actually pay Sony £200 more for the privilage with their new console!!!:D

Just get a 360 now. There is nothing wrong with them, and for the price you pay its worth it. Remember you can get the core pack or the premium that has the HDD, wireless controller, headset and also HD componant cable. Well worth the £280.

I agree, it's the same as buying a PC, there's always something coming out worth waiting for, just buy one and be done with it i say.

Everything goes wrong at some point. When I got my first PS2 it had to be replaced 4 times in the first 6 months as the system kept failing.

I have the original Xbox, version 1. Never had a problem, at all. They got something right with it :)

according to DFC intelligence in the US, it could be possible that consumers are put off by the PS3 price tag and opt for the $200 cheaper 360, remember GTA is no longer exclusive to PS3!

its a major seller.

Although i've never had any intention of buying a PS3 as i'm 100% happy with my 360, the fact that it now doesn't have a vibrating controller would of put me off completely, if i had planned to get one.

Lol. I am sure it is. :D I will have more money by september however which is when i plan to get one (so i can get a good few decent adds on, live and games). By that time a price drop will only be one or two months away. I can wait that long.

What games would people recommend however? I have been unimpressed by DOA 4 (admittly did not play long).

I wouldn't bank on it. Word early on was that it was going to be xmas time it dropped. Recent opinion is that it might be spring time.

Thats what everyone was saying... But now opinion is cos it's Xmas and they will sell a lot, they will take the money and drop it shortly after.

It's all speculation though of course.

Indeed. However since it is christmas they will properly want a price drop around that time to make the PS3 seem even more expensive.

They won't need a price drop.

PS3 = £425
Xbox 360 = £280

I can see a clear winner at christmas in the shops.

Well, The article is kinda odd on that site so I would place a lot of faith in it. However $250 is a good price. £179 maybe for the UK.

I think £200 for the UK is quite high for ninty.

More then happy with my Samsung LCD which supports 1920*1080i (the model that Microsoft use on all there kiosks showcasing the 360. :D

Whether this is an indication or a smokescreen who knows, but a MS person is saying there are no plans for a price drop for the 360.

to be honest, I'd have gone the same way with what you have, interlaced, but after seeing the two side by side, interlaced and progressive scan, the 1080p display wowed everyone who watched it, so, I'll get the 1080p when it's out:)
