Can't say i'm suprised, there's only so much of that on-the-pitch hugging and fondling that will stay on the pitch;)

Who cares what they get up to? It was in private, no-one underage appears to have been involved and nothing illegal has suggested to have taken place.

Re: Footballers In News Of World

Well i'd say the media care, because it's scandal and gossip that makes them their money.

Anyway here's a link: http://www.newsoftheworld.co.uk/stor...ws/news3.shtml

I'm shocked!!! NOT!

Soccer has been becoming more of a poof's game all along. Just look at that big girl's blouse Ronaldo.

Good luck to them. What they do in private is their business. Of course, as with all celebrity hanky-panky - if they avoided recording it they'd have a much better chance of keeping it private...

Heh interesting they run that "story" the same week that Footballers Wives returns on tv. :)

you all this this is good news reporting?

NOTW appears to be on a vendetta against footballers currently, and I prefer to read proper news rather then celebrity scoops.

sherer 14-02-2006 15:25

Re: Footballers In News Of World

from what i heard this is the story that was going to run a few weeks ago about a certain footballer.. not sure on forum rules if i can state the names.. but legal action stopped it.. as the NOTW had nothing to print they were offerred the Dannii Minogue lap dancing footage that was actually done last sept

then they published the story with the usual caveat .. we can't name them for legal reasons last weekend

it's s sad fact of today's society that this is news.. TV has been reduced to watching a bunch of no bodies on reality TV and now the TVs is just reporting on what they people get up to

Agreed. Why can't we just leave people to get on with their own lives.

I know which two it is - but I'm not going to say, because other than my source, I have no proof and don't want myself or the site to be sued. Needless to say it's surprising.

Incog ponders about how if it was two 'women' footballers the comments in this thread would be rather different. :erm:

It's Jenas and Ashley Cole apparently.

Oh it would have made the headlines and the attitudes of the males reading it would have been very different to the ones they have displayed thus far reading about two males.Lots of it's none of our business about two blokes and for two women it would have been entirely more salacious in content.

I dont even know what they been accused of, that is how much it interests me. I am interested in what they do on the pitch the rest is quite frankly none of my business.

Surprisingly that is my stance, negating my own opinions on homosexuality I can't possibly see how it affects their ability to play football, ie do their jobs.

Not sure I believe it. A mobile phone wouldn't do much at all. Doubt his eyes would have closed in pleasure.

i read a quote from the police saying they already know the Pompey players weren't there and had nothing to do with this

they should start locking these women up for wasting time as all they after is making money out of a story.. this is giving proper cases like this a bad name

Saaf_laandon_mo 22-02-2006 11:14

Re: Footballers In News Of World

Yeah, I was reading that the Pompey players were questioned as witnesses, and had nothing to do with the allegations. I cant believe how some women cry rape just for attention/money, making it so difficult for genuine victims to come forward, incase they are branded in the same light.

You and me both.I'm ashamed of some of my sex because they are so stupid in not realising that crying wolf can give other genuine cases a harder time of proving the truth.

Well Ashley Cole isn't too happy about being linked to the story.

http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/articl...y_orgy_stories

If he wins would it be a first? Someone being libeled without actually being named?

I imagine it would be possible if they put clues in so you could indentify who it was. I didn't read the original article but if they say something like, "an injured English left back who plays for a team in North London", then they haven't named him as such but they have identified him.

Re: Footballers In News Of World

There was the usual vague-ish clues.

I think the clincher was the photo they printed with blurred faces where the original was found floating about the internet a few hours later.

I remember the wednesday/thursday after the NOTW article they showed a picture of Ashley Cole and made some joke about mobile phones, so after reading that I was sure he was one of them.
