3 for £33 whats he cap ?

ok we currently have 1mb @ £17.99 and the family pack @ £19.50 plus the 5p talk plan @ £10.50 = £47.99 ............ we have been looking at what we watch on the tv and think that the base pack would be fine and the 3 for £33 is a saving of £14 a month ..but is the 1mb uncapped on the 3 for £33 deal ?

Are you sure about that? That would make TUL seem very attractive but I cannot find any answer on ntl.com

Where does the £11 come from? Take away the cost of the broadband connection and telephone service from £33 and you end up paying a lot less than £11 for the TV service. £17.99 for internet and £12.50 for Talk Unlimited Local works out at £30.49. That means the TV service is costing only £2.50.

I knew Channel NTL would come in useful eventually. Local is your area code and all adjacent areas codes.

Suppose that means people near the coast get the worse deal because we are adjacent to the sea in some cases LOL! ;)

well my code is 0208

but the mrs calls 01908

so is that local ?

ntl dont seem to tell you what local is ?

Possibly not. 01908 is Milton Keynes, and i think this is outside of your local area.
NTL won't publish maps giving out this information, as there are so many changes it would be impossible to keep up with it.

According to a site that seems to be based on BT, which shouldn't be too unsimilar, some of your local codes would be these:
01322 01372 01689 01707 01708 01727 01737 01753 01784 01883 01895 01923 01932 01959 01992.

0190 seems to fall outside of your regoinal area also, so it is possible that these calls are charged at National Rate.
If you need to know for certain, however, then i suggest calling NTL and asking them as they will have more accurate information.

Re: 3 for £33 whats he cap ?

so we was on the 5p talk plan before so now we have to ay 3p per minute instead of 5p for a whole hr  could we still have the 5p talk with this plan or would we have kept it as we already had it ?

Bob 19-02-2006 11:35

Re: 3 for £33 whats he cap ?

As good a place as any to look would be your local BT phonebook. They tell you one section what is a local call and I would assume that NTL will class their local calls the same

paul11974 19-02-2006 11:49

Re: 3 for £33 whats he cap ?

but im not a bt customer so i dont have one of there books

Fingy 19-02-2006 13:08

Re: 3 for £33 whats he cap ?

But its not a BT phone book, they just have the contract to produce it so they have their advertising all over it. If you look at your phone book it will say the area, i.e. Northern Ireland... though I think this may have been changed to a Belfast only version?

paul11974 19-02-2006 14:11

Re: 3 for £33 whats he cap ?

ok so all of the below numberes in the link must be local ?

http://www.thephonebook.bt.com/publi...e=020&x=24&y=2

but can i still get the 5p call plan with talk unlimited local

Pia 19-02-2006 16:57

Re: 3 for £33 whats he cap ?

Yeah, and your talk plan doesn't make it any different. Local rate is local rate!

What i mean is, yes all those numbers in the link are local to you. So they will be included in your Talk Unlimited evening and weekend calls.
Local rate areas won't change no matter what call plan you're on.

Don't think so, not if you already have Talk Unlimited Local. Why would you want to though?

So the mrs can call her mum in milton keynes @ 5p for a hr instead of 3p per minute

Pia 19-02-2006 19:48

Re: 3 for £33 whats he cap ?

Maybe you can, i just can't imagine them letting you have 2 different talk plans.

Someone else will know more than me!

King Of Fools 19-02-2006 20:03

Re: 3 for £33 whats he cap ?

No the 5p talk plan would be a downgrade. You can upgrade to TU National though.

I think vonage and freetalk offer you the product on a 14 day trial so there's no harm in testing it first.

the deal for 33 quid is a good deal. for 32.99 you get talk unlimited local, base pack television and UNLIMITED 1mb BB. Recently NTL have called local within 30 miles. if your calling further away than that, then you can easily add Talk Unlimted for an extra 4 pounds. free calls up to an hour at a time to all uk land lines on 01 or 02 numbers. 36.99 is a really good deal for that.

Talk Unlimited is only £4 extra but is not calls at any time (only off-peak).
Talk Unlimited 24 is at any time but is £12.50 extra.
