ntlworld.com problems
Is anyone else experiencing problems reading the news items on ntlworld.com? http://www.ntlworld.com/news/
If I click on any news item it comes back blank. I can still see the rest of the page down the right & left (links etc.), but the news item itself, down the middle of the screen, is blank. It's been like this for a few days now. |

That's unless ntl don't assign you one in the first place, in which case you can surf without one if you want. I'm one of the lucky ones; I'm not on a proxy. If you want to check it out, scroll up to the top of this page and click the Connection link. That'll tell you whether you're on a proxy or not, and if you are, which one. I agree with Bill C; this would seem likely to be a proxy issue. I, too, can see the news page perfectly. |

This is a proxy issue. You appear to be an ntl Customer Your IP address 86.11.***.*** Your Proxy IP address 80.5.160.7 This is a Baguley Proxy Server Try this one :) |
Re: ntlworld.com problems
Yep. I picked a proxy at random (watford) & it works again (normally, I'm on Poplar).
I'll probably pick a different home page to read my morning news, rather than play with proxies. |
Re: ntlworld.com problems
Well it must be them.

Re: ntlworld.com problems
on topic does anyone get any popups when they go to ntlworld's homepage? I get a popup for a casino site, I never get the popup anywhere else and my pc is clean of adware and spyware :S

Re: ntlworld.com problems
I don't, but then I use Firefox.
|
Re: ntlworld.com problems
Poplar here and I get a blank news item as well, switching proxy works as usual.
One of many that fail in some way, I gave up reporting them as its a waste of time. |
Re: ntlworld.com problems
I thought this had already been shown not to be a proxy issue, since marky is not routed via ntl proxies, but does have a problem.

Agreed. I found myself on a proxy today for pretty much the first time since getting broadband - ;-( - so i thought I'd check this. I can confirm that the other proxies I tried didn't show the page, while Watford 1 did. Definitely a proxy issue to my mind. |
Re: ntlworld.com problems
OK. Looks like I was lucky in picking Watford at random. Just gone through 24 proxies using the cache-1 server in each case. Some displayed the news article & some didn't.
The ones that work are:- brhm, brnt, glfd, hudd, lutn, midd, nrth, nott, pete, watf. The ones that don't work are:- asfd, belf, cdif, colc, cosh, hers, leed, manc, oxfd, popl, renf, sotn, swan, winn. In each case I went to the ntlworld news page & clicked on the London Bombings Public Enquiry story. |
Re: ntlworld.com problems
Yes I tried using different proxies. I'm on the Cosham proxy by default. And yes some worked on the NTL news site and some didn't. So yes I would say it's definately a proxy problem. My Cosham one does not work for this. But I won't be changing proxy just to view the NTL news site. I will go to other news sites instead. Like the BBC ones.;)
