Re: Routing Loop In Bromley
I am getting problems connecting to sites today too in the Bromley area.
However my tracert to googlemail like yours seems better. Google is really slow for me though connecting to it and others. Re: Routing Loop In Bromley
Yeah, I believe there are a lot of upgrades going on at the moment, so this may have something to do with the problems -- The traceroute shows that there is a routing loop, these tend to occur when routers have not converged there route info, depending on the routing protocol used; anyone know what NTL are using?
Is it worth calling support, to report this - or will they tell me that its my PC infected with sypware :) |
Re: Routing Loop In Bromley
Im not sure what a tracing route is all about :erm: but my internet is VERY slow today and wont connect to some sites (Bromley area)

Re: Routing Loop In Bromley
OK Just Called and got a recorded message: "Customers in the BR1, 2 ,3, 4, 5, 6, and SE6 areas may have issues - we're working on it".
So at least we know they are aware of it. |

Re: Routing Loop In Bromley
hehe - no it was a reference to the two routers passing the packets back and forth.
brom-t2cam1-a-ge11.inet.ntl.com [80.1.227.9] "10 can deal with this" brom-t2cam1-b-ge11.inet.ntl.com [80.1.227.10] "9 This is for you !" brom-t2cam1-a-ge11.inet.ntl.com [80.1.227.9] "I don't want it! You have it!" ms brom-t2cam1-b-ge11.inet.ntl.com [80.1.227.10] "LALALALALALA!" So basically the packet is going nowhere once it hits one of these routing loops. ---------- Post added at 16:28 ---------- Previous post was at 16:27 ---------- From the service status page: " Detail NTL broadband Internet customers in the Orpington, Brombourogh, Bexley, Lambeth and Lewisham areas may currently be experiencing an intermittent or complete loss of service this is due to a technical fault. Our engineers are aware and are working to restore service as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused." |
