Re: Sky Two

Yes it is, as it is the new name for Sky mix.

takitomouse 03-11-2005 10:53

Re: Sky Two

yep - its just sky mix renamed, so if you had that, you should have sky two.

They appear to go as high as 999 - there isnothing sequential about it. Ntl seem to have just thrown whatever they want where they want, Radio in th midst of a range of TV, no rhyme or reason as to numbers i.e. no grouping of shopping channels and similar tastes. It could have been done so much better. Now we see ITV4 launched on Channel 15, yet ITV2 is Channel 6, and ITV3 is channel 8. It's just sooooo confusing.

they go as high as 950 (sky sports extra)

They tend to be sequential at the start of a 100 group for about 19-20 and then they stop. I assumed it was because once the NTL Eng has taken his shoes and socks off to count he's not going to get past 20 :D

But you can sort them into your own desired sequence which is a hassle i know. Its now actually worth doing as the firmware doesnt appear to randomise them when your not looking them any more

Re: Sky Two

but sorting the channels into favorates doesnt sort out the silly numbering and thus is only usfull if you are a prog +- kind of person rather than a keying in a number

does it matter that you key in 15 rather than 6?? I would have thought the sequence was more important if your a +- kind of person

I think the question should be

Where is $ky 3?

I'm not sure NTL is getting Sky 3 in the forseeable - it's being pimped as a "Introduction to pay TV", hence the reason freeview get it...

But you also get it on satellite pay TV.

Re: [Merged] Sky Two/Three on NTL?

Yes, because specifically it's an introduction to $ky - it hardly costs them anything to stick it on their network, so why not? It just means they're less likely to persue sticking it on NTL.

They will want to get the channel on NTL if for no other reason than because the amount you can sell your advertising space for depends on the size of your audience. It's not in their interests to deny the channel to NTL. I expect there is some backroom horse-trading going on over what NTL want to charge them for carriage. I would be very surprised if it's not there within about 6 months.

Sky obviously think differently, as that's exactly what they're doing.

Do you know that this is the permanent position adopted by $ky as opposed to a negotiating position?

Do we know that it is not NTL that are not bothering to add the channel?

I don't know, I'm afraid, as it's not my area.

From what I've heard, this is not the case.
