No, it is not. IncrediMail does not install any PC surveillance tools, capture keystrokes, log your communications, etc. Our business and revenue model has nothing to do with using your personal information in a harmful or deceitful manner. In fact, the IncrediMail team is adamantly against that kind of behavior and therefore, does not violate the privacy policy and agreement with our customers.

Don't install unless you want trouble, like Chirs says stick with Microsoft stuff.

I have used a version of it, years ago. It was not very good. I remember this going, which "supposed" to be in their t&c's. From the privacy link that Wayne gave, it looks like they may have changed that

Re: Incredimail

I installed it and then couldn't get rid of it - full of spyware IIRC but that could have changed.

Used it for years and never had any problems. I do run the premium version though.

Re: Incredimail

I've used it in the past, its an ok ish prog with some good notification types, I read on another forum in the small print of Incredimail it says that they own your emails and any content within them, so if your planning on sending any :erm: confidential material ;) then this is probably not for you, I'll try and dig the link out when I get home.
HTH

Also worth noting it has a great "bounce" and "block" feature in addition to an enormous range of emocons, e-cards and letter styles.

You could say I am very happy with it. :tu:

Re: Incredimail

If you get to rely on it, then you need to form an escape committee to get away from it, or try this

http://email.about.com/cs/emailutili...ediconvert.htm

Unless things have changed, Incredimail neither uses a commonly known format, nor supports exporting.

I used Incrediconvert to recover a friend's important messages from the files of Incredimail, after Incredimail broke down (the free ad-sponsored version seems to do that all too often), and plugged them into Outlook Express, since the default installation was there and working.

Against my advice, they then managed to re-install Incredicrap and use it!

NO, NO, NO, it will never be on MY system:
1. I hate adware of any kind, even if they wriggle out of being classified as spyware
2. I consider Incredimail to be both unstable and irritating
3. I hate the amount of garbage it adds to email

At the moment, I use Outlook Express with additional security precautions (restricted zone and firewall attachment rename, plus others).

Considering Opera 8 (when I get round to installing the anniversary freebie), Mozilla Thunderbird or Seamonkey suite, or Pegasus.

Pegasus Mail is one of the best "high security" email clients around, with a "safe HTML" option that avoids the usual vulnerabilities of mail programs that use the IE engine for display - it's a good mail program, without all the jazz!

The complete opposite of Incredimail, which is nothing but jazz!
