Re: what a surprise
Gotta laugh at how the MNOs all do worse than the MVNOs of which some are "supported aka owned by) an MNO

Because as posted, it’s meaningless, Talkmobile scored 83%, 83% of what, customers who said that they would have Talkmobile’s babies if asked...? Ok I’m being pedantic, I assume this is some kind of customer satisfaction survey where a higher figure is better. But without the background and context and what is actually being measured, it’s fairly meaningless. |
Re: What a surprise
Which? is paywalled, no use to me even if linked.

Re: What a surprise
From skys web site. I Use Tesco mobile , which seeing this is somewhat strange as it uses O2
"Smaller providers are consistently outshining the industry's largest mobile firms by offering better customer service and far cheaper deals," Natalie Hitchins, Which? head of home products and services, said. "Many top-rated challengers avoid mid-contract price hikes, offering households struggling with the cost of living much-needed certainty." Talkmobile topped the rankings with a customer score of 83% followed by Tesco Mobile on 81%, with both impressing customers with their network reliability, customer service and value for money. Other top-rated networks included Giffgaff and Smarty, which both received a score of 79%, driven by their flexibility and affordable Sim-only deals. An O2 spokesperson said: "We're investing over £700m into our network again this year through our Mobile Transformation Plan, with O2 recently named the most improved network in Europe in independent testing. "We're continuously improving customer service while rewarding our customers with free EU roaming and exclusive rewards, experiences and prizes through Priority, ensuring every O2 customer receives fantastic value for money." Sky News has contacted Three and Lycamobile for comment |
Re: What a surprise
According to OFCOM, complaints about O2 on a per 100,000 basis was 7 (the worst). The reasons were:
Faults, service and provisioning (33%) Contracts (35%) Complaints handling 13% https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-and-...-tv-complaints |
Re: What a surprise
I'm with Lebara, £5 a month for unlimited calls and texts, with 5Gb of data which barely ever gets used as I am always near wi-fi and when I am not I am just careful with my data usage.
I typically get a decent 5G signal and for my ZTE U30 Air 5G Mobile Modem/Router combo unit, I can go on Amazon and get a 30 day unlimited data sim for anything from £12.50 to £25 from Lebara, so should I need it, I have options. The last time I had a mobile contract it was with EE, and whilst they are typically not bad, the customer service etc has over the last few years pushed me away from them. Most of the companies are charging prices for tariffs that are extortionate, they say it's so they can "upgrade" the network, but once the fibre is in the ground, they have a small fee each month depending on provider for "rental/maintenance" depends on the contract, and then they can put again depending on contract anything they want down that fibre at any speed they want, as long as they put the equipment on the end of it. The price of data plans in this country is a scam and our toothless regulators and spineless governments fail to do anything about it. |
Re: What a surprise
I too am with Lebara 35 GB unlimited rest for £7.49 and Unlimited Data in my ZTE MC888 3 months for £9.98 per month dump it and repeat Lebara still have the offer on and it seems to be on pretty much indefinitely. I do think Lebara cap their 5G speeds to 170meg single threaded. I get more when I connect 10 times to Tweaknews but every speedtest jumps 300 to 400 then settles at 170 which is a shame but cheap.

Re: What a surprise
Often the smaller providers don't have their own kit and infrastructure. You can do things cheaper if your bills are smaller. (This doesn't excuse the customer service of any provider though.)
