Formula 1 2026 Season Thread
 

Testing is scheduled for January 26-30 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

New car and engine regulations will result in smaller, lighter cars with active aerodynamics, replacing DRS with power boost modes, and new hybrid power units featuring a 50/50 split between combustion and electric power using 100% sustainable fuel.

I think the 2026 cars look nice based on livery reveals this week, I think this season is going to be exciting and I can't wait for the official testing to start to see how good or bad each team could be.

Testing at Barcelona has started this morning, they have been given 3 times as many test days this year due to the huge regulation change, unfortunately it's a private test but I'm sure some drone footage will appear later.

looking forward to the tests next month. i usually only watch a few highlights but will watch them all this year due to all the changes.

what do we think of aston martin with adrian neweys new design?

The Aston looks very different but it's early days yet they only just made it to this private testing so we really have no idea what will happen.

However the Mercedes PU and car seems very strong in this test, I'll be watching the testing for sure that's when we will get a better idea of cars performances but it's still never set in stone until the first race, even then it can change like it did for McLarens car.

Just got home from work, it sure sucks that the coverage is only broadcast live between 3-4pm each day this year!

Time to fire up my IPTV feed for 3pm.

The look of the cars from the new regulations look really good out on the track compared to previous years.

I guess seeing it's just testing the rules are slightly different, or maybe it is still legal and within the specs(until it's not). I'm sure this air brake or whatever it is won't be on the car in Australia.

It's a shame Ferrari, Charles in particular is showing great drive but when it really matters, race endurance the car will fall away. It's sad. I'd love to believe Charles can mount a championship bid :(

I would love to see Ferrari in the top 3 this year at the start of the season. I'd like Lewis to do well before he retires, but I think he's past his best.
