Can't sign into VM !
 
Hi guys, not sure if I'm in the right place but here goes.

Yesyerday all was ok & working BUT today I can't sign into VM web site,

I'm positive all in working at my end I can still get VM on my Android Phone just not with my desk top PC.

Any ideas what's wrong ?

May I pretty please have a rant.

I just hope your problems logging in are not the same as mine because I have been unable to login since early June and I'm hoping your problem is just a temporary glitch.

Using my chromebook, which has been my access point to My VM for the last 3 years, I put my email in and it goes to a screen saying Ooooops ...asks me to check a few things ... none of which are relevant to me or the problem ... then tells me to use the link to sort it out which just takes me back to the original login screen. Oooops. I have never got far along enough to give my password ---- Oooops

I found I can get in on my android mobile using Chrome, on my son's ipad and on his computer using chrome, firefox and even linux etc.

VM Faults have had me jumping through hoops and have ruled out everything and now say that there is nothing further they can do as it appears to be a security issue, "which may be resolved at some point". They couldn't explain what the actual issue is Oooops but have confirmed the details I am using to login are correct and that it's a fault at VM Oooops. ... So i'm stuck using my mobile and it's a pain when I can hardly read the details and increasing the size of the font only lets me read a couple of words at a time. Oooops I now have to download my bill just to check it. Petty annoyance I know but I'm errrr 'very fed up' and that's the polite version of how I feel. Oooops

Really hate that Ooooops screen with a vengeance and if anyone ever says Oooops to me I will likely go into rottweiler mode and savage their kneecaps grrrrrrr

End rant and breath.

ok guys I have just been on the web site & I am getting into my email account so all "seems" ok at the mo. hope your all getting there as well, Good Luck.

My advice to anyone is to ditch VM for email for most things and grab a few Gmail or outlook email accounts or just an email account not related to your ISP.

I've still got my ntlworld email which I use to log into My Virginmedia maybe once a year but I've set it to forward any emails that come to that to my Gmail account, everything is so much less painless doing this across all my devices.

That's what I'm doing at the mo, I have 2 other email accounts & all are connected so I will always get my emails.

I have had my ........@ntlworld.com account since 2000 yep 25 years I've been with VM I joined when they were known as NTL World. I'm happy staying with them for now :)

I set mine to forward to my own email system years ago, and its still doing it, even after I left VM (6 months ago now).

Problem back now into week 3, any contacts that might work, have ticket number .agents , and customer service forum are a waste of time

I do for all Internet services. Virgin BB does work well most the time , tv gives me all I need , and at a reasonable price ,due to haggling. My problem is I can't see my virgin account. That's it . Not the end of the world but still a nightmare.

Snoopz wasn't saying go away fron VM as your internet provider, just get a Gmail address (or another email provider) and have all your VM mail forwarded to that.

Repeat can NOT get to my account, so cannot amend anything :mad: have moved all that need to know elsewhere years ago. That means to make clear , can not change anything to do with virgin. Package , bb speed etc

hi itshim, I guess you have probably tried but, when I couldn't get in online I did manage to use my login details to use the mobile app. I use an android phone and although it's not as simple as the My VM online site it does allow you to change your package and bb speed etc you just have to forget any logical places to find things and head first to the "help" option.

Yep tried android and windows 11 , long "talk" via Facebook, last nite told it is still an active ticket . Don't think they have a clue . Managed to get a copy of last bill sent to a different e mail. Whatever I use I cant register my account, nothing is ever sent/reach my new email address, as asked for by them , and yes it was working upto about 3 weeks ago.

For most of July I found getting help for the login failure was soooooo frustrating, even though I had set up the APP using the same details that should work on line, they kept insisting it was a password issue and despite my never getting past the email being accepted, they gave me 3 different passwords to try all needing my husbands permission.

The faults team eventually bailed out saying that it was a VM issue and as I had now set up the App and they couldn't help as it was a most possibly a "security problem, that would probably be sorted sometime in the future" * With no help/update from VM, and the App being a pain in the butt to use, I kept trying to get access on line and eventually got in a couple of weeks ago but even that was hit and miss for a couple of weeks.

Forgive this following kind of irrelevant information....... Because of the added level of difficulty dealing with the Faults Team on line in July, especially due to the account being in my husbands name, I won't go into the stress that caused, and now being at the end of the current contract I had decided to try to change the account into my name. So I phoned this monday, and despite his cancer and severe deafness, apparently he has to go into a care home or die before I could take over the account.

Relevant Bit The lady I spoke to spent ages sorting out a way to hopefully avoid the problems I had having to involve John and even dug through all the notes available. With the date the problem started she reckoned my problem could have been when VM decided to combine the My VM and VMO2 login process/pages which caused problems for many other customers but that the issue wasn't caught early on in the process. She also said my Fault* was still not showing up as cleared until recently. She also wondered if it the original problem could have been something linked to VM sorting out a data protection issue which could have been why the community Faults Team were pressing to actually have a 1st line agent speak to my husband in person and have him pass an extra identity test in order for them to deal with "a third party".

That is exactly what I think the problem is struggling to get anyone to take control of it.

Sadly I found that to often be the case with VM.
There are people who actually know how to fix issues, its getting to them thats the problem.
