Where are you going on holiday this year?

With the weather not looking very nice outside, it is the perfect time to book a holiday.

I've said it many times, you don't have to go far in order to have a change of scene. Sometimes getting away does you the world of good.

Anyone booking anything this year?

We’ve booked an AirBnB in Paris for a week around the Marathon (son-in-law is running in it), then a week in Greece in June* (Portaria, in the Pelion), and we might have another week somewhere (either in this country with daughter and family during school holidays, or a week somewhere warm in September)

*if all goes well with my knee replacement operation in May - Paris and the Pelion were booked before I knew I was getting a knee op, and we’ve had to juggle the op date bearing in mind there should be a four week gap between flying and having the op (before and after)

Madeira next month, got sick of our winter.
(Was tempted by Cyprus, then I had a look exactly where it was.... Next holiday maybe, or even better Wales :) )

Sounds good!

I bet the marathon will be good fun in Paris and it gives you a chance to check out all the little streets too.

Mr K, I definately agree with you, we need some warmer weather.
I'm thinking of booking something for October when it starts to get worse in the UK.

For the summer, it is southern Italy for me. Never been before so hoping to take the paddle boards on the sea too.

A return to Anglesey. We went there last year but felt there was much more to see, so we have booked again for this summer. Hopefully the weather will be better this year.

You might even get home and not have loads of speeding fine notices and associated points on your licence.

I hope to be able to go back to Ukraine this year. I had such a wonderful time last year meeting new (and old ) friends. I can't wait to go back again.

A week at Loch Lomond in March, then if that goes well then maybe a long weekend or so in Prague some time later in the year. Probably October time.

You might come home a new man! People have face lifts, new teeth, new hair, the works, all done cheap.
If I was you though, I'd stick to the holiday. :D

Until I get a job I doubt I'll be going anywhere.

I might be going to Poland in November to visit Auschwitz.

I'm sure Poland (in general) is a nice place to visit, but thats not what his post says.

Its very specific "going to Poland in November to visit Auschwitz."
You may consider visiting a concentration camp a "a holiday", I do not, nor I suspect would the majority.

We are hoping to go to Cyprus in September depending on money left after building work. We would aim to go to the NW corner, Polis/Latchi and avoid the Brit heavy areas like Polis, Larnaca, Limassol and the like. Maybe some time in the Troodos.

I would recommend North Cyprus (TRNC) - you can fly to Larnaca, then get a taxi to the North.

Lots of rentals/hotels around Kyrenia.
