Shocked to read about it, absolutely tragedy, all to live for, too young to go.

RIP Liam

Absolutely shocking news to hear. His poor son is only 6 and now without his dad. It's read sad.

Very sad indeed for a child to lose their father.

Unfortunately looks drugs and alcohol related.

Mental health related most probably but it's best not to speculate imho

It was said on the BBC1 news that police had been called because of a young man off his head on drink & drugs, though they didn't specifically say it was him.

Later on a woman came on and said that the music industry is to blame for putting too much pressure on young musicians and that "It looks like this has claimed it's first victim".

Make of that what you will.

Tell that to the BBC then as well as The Daddy who speculated and then said it's better not to speculate.

However he died, it's very sad. He came from not far from me and so the local, as well as the national news has been covering what's happened. Lots of fans in tears.

May God bless his soul.

They thought he may have been. It's not been confirmed. I saw details of the 911 call. Police called over safety concerns and the hotel asked for them to be there before anyone attempted to go in.

It's a tragic accident whatever the circumstances.

Yeah totally uncalled for and bang out of order. A child lost his father and a family lost their son.

A little bit of an over-reaction there I think.

Yes they did, and thats sad, but a little humour now and then often helps.

I have always failed to understand the whole "fans in tears" thing.
They are not anyone they personally know (at least not 99.9% of them).

Many sad things happen, unfortunately.
A 7 year old boy was killed in a massive explosion the other day. :(
At one time that would have been created as a topic here as well.

Reckless behaviour is a death wish. He, like all of us should know better. You are allowed to say no.

Sad.

Don't think he was anything like the music industry's first victim. And young stars these days must get more support than they have ever had.

The minute we stop caring about situations like this we are lost. It's a very sad tragedy whatever the cause.
I personally am finding reading the news recently too,too depressing.

The Music Industry did not instruct him to get high on drugs and drink, or fall off a balcony because of it.

Well, no, but the implication is that the way young impressionable people are treated by the music industry leads to them seeking an outlet in unhealthy pursuits.

Some people can cope better than others in any given situation.

Has it now been confirmed whether being high and/or drunk led him to misadventure? I did wonder if the confidence and lack of judgement gained from the use of drink & drugs had led him to commit suicide.

'Michael Buerk has faced a backlash after he described the late Liam Payne as a 'drugged-up, faded, boy band singer'. - Spoken on Radio 4.

https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-e...-b2634872.html

Obviously Daily Mail who have really gone to town and milked his death for all its worth also has their say too...
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-coverage.html

A bit crass, maybe a bit too soon but then again the amount of continuous media coverage was way too extreme. To the point I'm actually expecting to hear stories from his next door neighbour two doors down to give their account of how wonderful he was.

So on this point I have to agree with M Buerk.

They aren't being charged with the actual death, as you say, just 'in connection' with it.

As his body was founď to contain cocaine and sleeping tablets, I imagine that this will be connected to the supply of the drugs at least.

one was charged with 'abandonment of a person followed by death' and drug supply. The hotel employee and third person were charged with supplying drugs.
