Yup, they're OK for a couple of weeks then go down hill rapidly and finally give up the pretence. A bit like him really.

A result of globalisation, that Mr Blair loved, and by all counts Mr Starmer too.

Face it. Brexit's been a disaster and anyone that voted for it must take some responsibility , and stop blaming everyone and anything else.

Dyson has a knack of taking something that is simple and cheap and turning it into something ridiculously complicated and very expensive .

Dude111 09-07-2024 22:09

.......And doesnt work as good right??

What’s it got to do with Brexit? Dyson offshored all his manufacturing years ago, well before Brexit, due to the globalisation Blair strived for, and Starmer is just Blair and Brown’s fourth term.

The fun of the Tories losing the Election, is that I get to be you and everyone else, over the last 14yrs that continually whinged about the Tories, but now I can do it about the illegitimate Labour government.

Brexit could have been a huge success and it would have put lefty Labour in Opposition for ever. It was the way it was implemented by Boris's remoaner government who gave us Brexit in name only. If we'd had a proper Brexit then we would have trade deals now with China, India, the USA and Narnia with GDP growth ahead of the USA and China combined. :D

I agree with you on the product analysis.

Every British PM over the last 30 years or so has favoured globalisation, it's strange to ascribe that exclusively to Labour Prime Ministers.

It's ironic that since we left the EU which Dyson famously advocated for, Dyson has actually reduced its UK headcount significantly. Personally, I don't ascribe it to the red tape and increased costs of Brexit but to Dyson focusing on Asia and finding labour costs there lower.

Mines a DC14 Animal, and it's been really good and can't fault it. I've had it for quite a few years now. The only downside is that it's just getting a bit too heavy to use for me just lately.

My comment was my crap attempt at humour. Vacuum - sucks etc. :erm:  :)

I've got a 25-year-old British-made Dyson. Mains powered and noisy but still going strong!

Not sure why anyone is surprised, it what unregulated capitalists do especially when so much personal wealth removes all sense of obligation to their own country and its citizens.

I personally think that large corporates should be made to employ minimum numbers people (not on min wage) in the country they generate revenue from.

Why would every country in the world need to do this? Just the ones where large corporates generate large revenues with minimal investment and pay low tax. I'd start with the US and Europe. Time we stopped being so servile to the large corporates & the ultra wealthy. Unless, of course, you like the servile approach to life :)

They do need them. You would rather the person they need be in the Far East than the UK?
