Have you ever been visited by the spirit of a loved one in your dreams?

It's said that the spirit of our loved ones can visit us in our dreams and that they do it this way so as not to frighten us.

Last night I had an extremely vivid dream from a late friend & business partner.

Coincidentally, a gentleman I talk to online had a dream where he received a hug from his mother on the 7th anniversary of her passing.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Do you believe that it was a blessing & a visitation in your dreams or do you think that it was simply a dream formed by your brain and it's memories?

No, once you are dead you are just worm food.

I've dreamed about my parents and others who are no longer here. However I wouldn't say they are spirits visiting, just my subconscious longing for them to be here that leads the brain to concoct dreams featuring them.

Wrong....... When our physical self passes, our spirit is free to move about...... Alot of spirits do not goto the light so they can stick around....... I have had dreams with my mom in them..... She sadly passed a couple years ago........

I tend to agree with this. There is so much more than this short life here that we don't fully understand yet.

Coincidentally I have Kylie, Shakira and Kaley Cuoco popping over for our regular game of Twister so I'll send her your regards ;)

Dreams are just imagination, not real, and not spirits.

No one really knows what dreams are mate... I think they are an alternate reality that we are able to visit when we are asleep.. When we are "awake",we are locked to the reality we are assigned.........

Dreams are just how our brains detox. All the junk you think about and worry about gets played out by your mind when you sleep.

I've even had the same dream more than once, about 8 years apart.

Got any evidence of that?

Some people think that we have a material body and a separate soul/psyche and others believe that we are matter alone.

However, there is a third theory that is gaining traction called panpsychism:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001vl96

Quote:

A discussion about the idea that some kind of consciousness is present not just in our human brains but throughout the universe, right down to cells or even electrons. This is panpsychism and its proponents argue it offers a compelling alternative to those who say we are nothing but matter, like machines, and to those who say we are both matter and something else we might call soul. It is a third way. Critics argue panpsychism is implausible, an example of how not to approach this problem, yet interest has been growing widely in recent decades partly for the idea itself and partly in the broader context of understanding how consciousness arises.

I've watched and read a lot of sci-fi and fantasy and that sound like something you'd find in them. Sorry but load of waffle to me.

No I can’t, I’ve lost close family, and in the aftermath of their passing I’ve had other family members telling me of strange occurrences. I’ve never witnessed anything paranormal.

You’d think in this age of CCTV everywhere and everybody carrying HD cameras in their pockets that we’d have some decent evidence of ghosts, paranormal activity, UFOs, crypto-zoology etc. but we don’t and what’s on You Tube etc is clearly staged.

They’re maybe a handful of true unexplainable videos but they don’t amount to compelling evidence.

After someone dies, those left behind are desperate to witness something, and they’ll latch onto anything for meaning.

I am at a disadvantage because I have to consider that a brain injury that I have and the multitude of medication that I take fir various things might affect me in a dream state. However, the friend who had a similar dream on the same night the other day has no such injury and doesn't have to take any medication.

You do have a point, but I have personally had enough proof to believe that life doesn't end when we 'die' on this Earth (and, yes, this was before my brain injury).

I can fully understand those who haven't had proof disbelieving this because it sounds out of this world because it is!
