But will they provide a paper bag to put on your head and a table to hide under? Not a true test otherwise.

The national system for sending emergency alerts to mobile phones in the UK will be tested again this September, the government has said.

And fine, obviously it didn’t work as well as intended, so presumably they have tweaked the system and will try again!

Can’t really see any problem with that.

The M6 motorway reminded me several times today, I wonder if the 3 network gets it this time, I'll either be driving back from Wales when it happens or in Tesco.

I saw that he message on my phone, so unfortunately I missed the sound and must have been elsewhere at the time.

Does your tablet have a SIM? I got it on my phone but not the iPad (wifi only, but normally relays phone calls and SMS messages as long as its on the same wifi network as the phone)

I didn't get it (again) neither did her indoors.

Not that I was bothered at all, just wondering if you need to 'opt in' or be registered or something . . . or did I opt out years ago?

:D

Which network are you both on? Maybe you have something turned off in setting? Which phones?

I don't see the point of it unless it is refined. For example, due warning of X to be, with Y sound with a display as to what you must do.

You can turn them off in settings, so maybe you have.

I actually have two levels I can allow, Severe and Extreme.
I can also turn vibrate on/off, have it repeat, and even have it "speak" the alert.

There is also a history, which shows both tests.
