The Sandman
Official trailer.
|
Re: The Sandman
I wasnt sure if I would care for this or not, that trailer pretty much confirms the 'not' part.
|
Re: The Sandman
Well I had little else left to watch, so I went ahead and gave this a shot anyway.
I've watched the first two episodes, I have to say that so far its been better than I expected [esp from the trailer]. I'm going to carry on with it for now, and if it continues to be ok, I'll likely watch all ten. |

Re: The Sandman
Half way through and it seems to be tying up story arcs quite quickly. Gonna have a break now cuz it makes my head hurt haha

Re: The Sandman
Finished it last night, a couple of slow eps in the middle, but pretty good overall, I hope we get a 2nd season.

Re: The Sandman
Nice visuals and something different, but marred by the usual recent problem.
Woke rant you can choose to ignore by not clicking; Spoiler:

Re: The Sandman
Like most of these series, I have never seen the comic/book/whatever to compare with.

Re: The Sandman
I’ve watched 1st two episodes so far and I’m suitably impressed to press on watching the rest.

Re: The Sandman
Whether its true or not I cannot say, but I did read that the change of constantine was down to rights issues with the character.

My point still stands though as they could have replaced him with a great grandson or something but in this series it seems they only would have considered a female or PoC and then a good chance they were LBQT+ for most characters. |

Why were they not chosen as existing ancestors? Watch the series and you will see that it was written and casted based on the woke options first. Token straight male for a few odd roles with them not being likeable characters. |

It was that comment that lead us here. You obviously just want to argue for arguments sake so i'll stop now, unless you do actually come up with a good counter argument for what I said. I'm not arguing that the series is not good as I said but pointing out it really is massively over the top woke might help some decide if they want to watch it if that stuff grinds on them after the recent gender swapping, misandry, LBGQT+, blackwashing virtue signalling avalanche from film and media. |
Re: The Sandman
My ultimate conclusion is it could have been better.
It had some nice visuals and scene settings while also being different. The casting I think let it down and the story got a bit iffy as the series progressed with the dialogue going downhill too. Things seemed to randomly happen that had no plot advancement or character development. They could probably have made this a movie rather than a series. Vanesu Samunyai wasn't a good choice for Rose IMO and it didn't help she wasn't given good lines either. The character she played seem real bland. It was different and visual enough for some to overlook all its downfalls I guess. Everything Everywhere All at Once had some similar ideas and concepts (different dimensions instead of dreams) but was so much better because of good writing/pace/casting/everything else. |
Re: The Sandman
Apparently a 2 part bonus episode has just dropped.
|
Re: The Sandman
Hmm, so it appears, I'll probably catch up with that over the weekend.
