What are you doing for the Queens Jubilee?

Anyone doing anything special for the Queens Jubilee?

We have decided to have a street party and all of our neighbours are going to cook a dish and we will have a few drinks.
Hopefully going to decorate the street in bunting too.

Whether into Royals or not it's a reason to come together and have a good time with the neighbours so happy days :) That's mostly why I'm having a party anyway.

You dont have to be a "Royalist" to have a good time. ;)

I dont care one way or the other about royals, but I wont be avoiding any celebrations I come across.

Two days off and drinks or parties sounds good to me. :D

Nothing planned, and we certainly won't be out in the pubs and clubs until 1 a.m.

I'll be traveling to go to to a job even though I'm now retired as it's for a friend for a friend. Complicated or what? Our mutual friend knows that the job will be done professionally and correctly. It's a full electical rewire of a house they have bought.

Before you ask, yes they will get a certificate for the installation from an industry recognised body (NAPIT) even though my friend can sign it off on his own (industry recognised) qualifications.

He's got letters after his name!:) :):) Oh I forgot, he's 75 next month. So much for retirement.

Nothing. Indeed, answering this question is the most I am likely to do.

Enjoying a long weekend with no alarm clock. Apart from that nothing planned and no plans to plan anything.

Sounds like the perfect plan to me Mr Grimm. :)

Still got my Jubilee mug from 1977. I was hopeful it might be worth something but since every school kid in the country got one I'm told not !

We are having a street party but it's delayed by a month to coincide with the 60th anniversary of our street. We also thought weather in July may be better and more people around.

I'll be enjoying my 5 days off work, nothing planned other than the usual, just the way I like it.

Avoiding the first 5 channels in the EPG as they'll be wallowing in it.

I think most people don't give a crap that she does or does not approve of. It's like asking what opinion a Dodo might have. :)

I'm just relieved she made it so they didn't have an excuse to take the bank holiday off us.

One will do as the Queen says otherwise she will come and set her Corgis on you.

But seriously, an extra bank holiday isnt a bad thing.
In fact I think we should have an extra bank holiday added to the calander but maybe move it to November as it is a long stretch after the August one til Christmas.

So did anyone do anything?

We had a street party and I was on BBQ duty...cooked so much food and everyone came along with some homemade cakes, party food, and ofcourse plenty to drink.
The kids played games in the street and we had a great time.

Nothing special, went out for a family meal on the Friday, but we often do that anyway.

I went to London on Thursday with sisterr an co, and we couldn't get near St James park, so went to Trafalgar Square and had the perfect spot as the planes flew over our heads.

I did walk 6 miles and was knackered.

Sounds great to be part of it all down in London. Bet the flypast was amazing!

Go back 25 years or so and there would've been the Concorde flying there too. Alas, no more.
