VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
Hi all,
Still getting conflicting info about VOLT. I just think its ridiculous that I was on o2 and virgin media, i then moved from o2 to virgin mobile and i'm told i don't qualify for VOLT because I'm not on o2 mobile! Any VM experts here? Surely there must be a ton of people complaining about it! I can now use o2 rewards again which is ironic that o2 class me on virgin mobile as warranting the ability to use o2 rewards but not the VOLT haha |
Re: VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
I am on Virgin Mobile but coming to the end of my deal so will need to re-negotiate and am hoping I can switch to Volt. I have no issue taking my number to o2 if that is what I need to do.
Interested on more info on this subject too. |
Re: VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
I was on VMobile with the free SIM as part of Ultimate package. When I renewed, I had to move to O2 a couple of months ago. O2 raise their prices every March which didn't happen with my VM SIM.
I think O2 are quite expensive: O2 50Gb iPhone 13 £46.99 a month + £30 up front VM 100Gb iPhone 13 - £41.50 a month - zero up front. Both 5G I know it's only £5.50 a month difference but... (Obvs (double data SIM if you have VM broadband = 100Gb and also next BB tier if you have an O2 sim and Virginmedia BB) |
Re: VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
I was looking at the o2 sim only deals and they start at £15 so that is a no from me. I will have to see what they offer

Re: VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
I moved to Sky a while ago based on the fact VM were moving to the Vodaphone network.
As I understand it, Sky use the O2 network anyway, so I basically ended up in the same place. My Sky costs me £6 month and my unused data builds up for 3 years. |

---------- Post added at 11:48 ---------- Previous post was at 11:41 ---------- Just called and the guy I spoke too literally told me to call back closer the time of my discount drop off and he said they should be able to renew my deal at the same cost which means I should still get my free sim. Of course that remains to be seen but if that is the case I will forget the Volt idea |

Re: VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
I'm in a funny situation.
My dad is the VM account holder, and I have an O2 pay monthly. I wonder if they would accept that? |
Re: VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
Name has to be the same on both accounts.

Re: VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
Does an O2 sim (£8 for 20GB) off USWITCH qualify me for these VOLT benefits , both accounts at same address and same name ?

If you’ve got Gig1 Fibre Broadband, Ultimate Oomph or one of our Volt packages, you can place an eligible order for your first mesh WiFi Pod on the Virgin Media Connect app. Or if we find there are no faults with your broadband service, but you’re still experiencing slow speeds, you can order a WiFi Pod online – just run a test on your services first. Check your broadband service If you’re adding WiFi Max with one of our M50 to M500 packages without Volt via the routes above, we’ll provide your first WiFi Pod automatically once your order’s been confirmed. If you need a second or third Pod, sign in to My Virgin Media, click on Your Package and follow the steps in the WiFi Max tab. You can also call the direct number 0800 064 3850 to order a pod (they will only send out one at a time, and there must be an interval of at least one week before a second order will be accepted) |
Re: VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
Trying to sort my Volt benefit out and have been asked by an O2 agent on the online messaging to confirm my address and name is the same for both which it is however I’ve also been asked for my VM account number am I safe to do this on the online chat ?

Re: VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
Volt activated on O2 in November but not activated on virgin, why are they still incompetent?

Re: VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
I'm currently with EE mobile and virgin media for tv, phone and broadband.
I have 4 sims under my name for myself and my family. Does anyone know if i can take out 4 o2 sims under my name and be eligible for the VOLT benefits? https://www.o2.co.uk/virgin-media-o2 o2's site says volt includes double data, broadband boost, supercharged connectivity (includes O2 Travel Inclusive Zone) and Tech Treats. I'm wondering if i bought 4 sims @£8per month with 20GB data that would they all be doubled to 40GB and my home broadband speed would be increased from 350Mb to 500Mb? |

I would stick where you are, the EE network is the best I’ve used. Since Virgin Mobile migrated to the o2 network it has been diabolical. Whilst using Vodafone it wasn’t too bad, but when it was using EE it was superb. |
Re: VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
I have a contract with Virginmedia for TV-Landline and Broadband NOT Mobile phone, which I rejected, they have just added it to my account , without my permission-
Cannot get to talk to anyone at Virginmedia only chat-box (Useless). Unless I get this resolved soon Virginmedia will have one less customer to worry about. I consider being charged for services I do not have or want is THEFT!:td: |
Re: VOLT o2 and Virgin Media
Found out today Volt can not be added if the VM and O2 contracts are in different names but the same address which works for me as my daughters o2 contract is at my address. Activated on my O2 site just need to wait a week and see
