I saw him play live in the eighties, he was a big lad back then and needed oxygen during the performance.

I vaguely remember him on Celebrity It's a Knockout and being unable to catch opponent when they where in silly suit and he wasn't encumbered.

While I dislike some of the themes, content and certainly the covers he produced what Flanders and Swann called "a jolly pleasing noise".

Nothing can ever beat the memory of having his music playing at full volume as we drove through the night on our way through France. Can't believe he's gone.

Yes very sad...... I have thier first album on cassette and record.....

I finally got a GOOD copy of the record that isnt LOW VOLUME on side 2!!

A good album for sure.........

Meat Loaf was how I discovered rock (plus Rainbow and Iron Maiden) and my 80s would have been a lot poorer without Bat Out Of Hell. There'll never be another like him, a rock opera singer if ever there was one.
