Ofcom and the BBC consumer programme 'Rip off Britain' said today that Virgin Media are the most complained about broadband company that they receive:

A factor will be that VM connections share several households to the cabinet. Sky, BT, etc connections have dedicated cables all the way to the exchange.
All depends on where you live and the behaviour of your neighbours. Where I am now there is very little(if any) contention, but where I was 6 years ago it was a very different matter.
When I had a phone line fault, an engineer came out a few hours after reporting the fault. Not sure Sky, BT, etc could manage that as the line would be serviced by Openreach.
Looking at the Feb 2021 figures, complaints about Plusnet and Vodafone were higher, and BT and TalkTalk were not that much lower than VM.

Ofcom are independent and have no reason to say that the majority of their complaints are about Virgin Media customer service if this wasn't true.

The frail elderly lady who was left without a phone for weeks on end was particularly upsetting & worrying.

When her daughters rang to see what was going on, they casually said it would take even longer to repair. They also said that that call centre were rude and dismissive about their concern for their elderly mother.

Ofcom also said that, despite having fewer customers than either Sky or BT, VM had the highest number of complaints.

Their representative also said that VM had agreed to take on more call centre staff to address the problems about not being able to contact them. She went on to say that their latest figures would be out very shortly to see if this had reduced the number of complaints about them and that they would be keeping a close eye on this.

Ironically, it's usually the case that the way that complaints are dealt with that leads to further complaints!!!

You are getting Sky and Vodafone mixed up (the colours on the graph are confusingly similar). It is Vodafone that frequently tops the chart. Sky is always one of the least complained about.

It depends what people are complaining about.

In my experience and c/o workmates, friends etc.

1. The actual service is outstanding. In other words, the hardware, software is considered robust, reliable and user friendly.
2. The service is regarded as good VFM
3. The customer service is the worst ever. Not just comparing to other telecoms but against energy companies, retailers, etc.
4. The engineers seem to be experts in fobbing people off and genius in "completing" jobs in record times.

I agree my list is anecdotal; however reading this forum and elsewhere I think it correct. What do other people think????

Because he receives that much compensation from them that he'd be stupid to leave.
