What is your favourite sandwich?

I love heading out with a sandwhich and if I have time I like to make it a good one.
What is your favourite sandwhich's you make yourself?

It doesnt have to be complicated as long as it tastes good!

One of my favourites is using Tiger Baguette as the bread.
I line the baguette with some Saint Agur Blue cheese spread, a couple of slices of ham, and then some juicy sliced vine tomatoes. It tastes awesome!

Another one that works well on seeded bread is my Seafood sandwhich.
I love some smoked salmon, coleslaw, cucumber, tomatoes, and chopped up Crab Sticks.
You can also layer the bread with a thin coating of mayo/ketchup which gives you another great flavour with the seafood.

Whatis your favourite you like to make?

Bacon. Not fussed what form the bread takes or whether it's toasted just as long as the bacon is crispy and there is lots of it. :D

ASDA Cheesy Singles (ie Cheese Slices). :)
Smoked Back Bacon (Pretty much any make)
Mattessons Lightly Smoked Turkey Bacon Rashers.

That said, I prefer cobs to actual sandwiches.
I also prefer Hot Toast over sandwiches, thats my main use for sliced bread.

Pickled beetroot and raw onion is one of my top 5.

Has to be a chip sandwich (Chip Butty) with HP or Daddies brown sauce.

I use wholemeal baps rather than bread: Favourite is smoked salmon with creamed horseradish sauce, thinly sliced cucumber with mayo on both baps. Closely followed by Stilton, sliced spring onions, and iceberg lettuce. Again mayo on both baps.

Exactly
no sauce though, for me it's just lots of butter.

Only salt and vinegar should ever go on chips. Anything else is sacrilege.

As for a sandwich, cheese and onion , can't be beaten. Definitely no mayonnaise near any sandwich.

Cottage cheese and beetroot works for me. That or plain smoked ham with half a jar of Colmans mustard on thick granary bread.

I like a good old fishy finger butty with Lurpak and white pepper.

Try a couple of slices of corned beef on that, it's beautiful!

I have several (No sauce)

Bacon - Must be streaky and cooked until crisp (Salt and spray vinegar), I buy dry cure, so you don't get the white stuff in the pan

Chip Butty - I have this most Saturdays, as it's takeaway night

But the one I have most days is a Crisp butty, and the flavour depends on what's in the box and I fancy.

Got to agree....A good crispy bacon roll does taste good.
Used to do those a lot when out camping.
Might throw in some fried mushrooms or a tomato too.

I'd forgotten about a chip butty/cob/sandwhich/ whatever they call them.
Equally, a buttered sandwhich filled with crisps tastes awesome too!

I do like a Fish Finger sandwhich too. With either Mayo or some TareTare Sauce.

So many possibilities. I'm hungry already!

Prawn & smoked salmon/hot oak smoked salmon with lemon mayonnaise (which is like rocking horse poop to get in supermarkets) with lettuce & cucumber.

Bacon sandwich with HP sauce

I miss the good old chip pan (got rid of it yonks ago), not being able to make the home-made chips to throw on a butty with a nice egg and runny yolk is a bummer.

Get a deep fat frier, much much safer and u can get now from around £35ish for a half decent one.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Swan-SD6080...s%2C311&sr=8-6

I wouldn't go any cheaper as they are rubbish, don't last long, hard to clean etc etc at the end of the day u get what u pay for.

Anywayssssss..... Back to the subject of Sandwiches....
I used to love a Beetroot Sandwich but as i've gotten older it gives me major heart burn now.

Also the best oil to use in my Opinion is Crisp and Dry.

I've been using it for at least 5 years with Maris Piper or King Edward Spuds and always get great results.
