Critical warning
At 01:43 I had this--01/01/1970 00:01:43 critical No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=40:0d:10:00:98:0b;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:7a:82:55;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0;
Internet went off at 12:25am with Los MDD. Been having dropouts since 1st January 2021. Is doing my head in. Any ideas what is wrong??? I have changed all my Cat cables to cat 6 and cat7 now. but Dropouts keep happening. |
Re: Critical warning
I get critical warnings in the network log on a regular basis. They don't seem to affect the connection though.
"No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out" |
Re: Critical warning
Any Idea as to why I loose my connection every so often for about a second then comes back on...Only been happening since Virgin Updated their Wireless (Wi-Fi) since beginning of this year....Has Never happened before....Only thing on wireless here is my phone. Everything else is on CAT 6 or 7 cable. Sick of loosing my Internet Radio when it happens and same in Facebook & Zoom. Cheers

Re: Critical warning
Why does it have 01/01/1970 as the date?
I'm not techy minded and curious :dunce: |

It doesn't have a battery backed-up RTC, so the only way for it to get the correct time is to have a working internet connection. It defaults the time to 0, which is the Unix timestamp epoch, 00:00 01/01/1970. |

The U/S SNR in your node is at 26-27dB since 12/3/21 01:00hrs. |
Re: Critical warning
You can either phone up and report the fault or do what I do and post on the VM forums, it'll take several days for a reply but they will check your connection and then DM you to arrange a suitable engineer date if required.

Re: Critical warning
Well I have just about tried everything I know how to do and resolve it..
When in Facebook or ZOOM I get a lose of internet for half to one second then I get this-You have lost your Wi-Fi connection-Your internet Connection was Restored--I use Cable not wi=fi conected via cat7 from Hub3 to Switch then cat 6 from there to TWO PCs and TV. When on PC TV is OFF. Also now when I sign out of my Hub then sign back in instead of it asking for my password I get a Box with my password in it for ALL to see. Only been happening since Jan 2021. Any Help will be Gratefully received ---------- Post added at 22:02 ---------- Previous post was at 21:59 ---------- Carth---I have NO idea why it says 1970. All the rest say 2021. it is still there for All to see. 01/01/1970 00:01:43 critical No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=40:0d:10:00:98:0b;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:7a:82:55;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; PERPLEXED. |
Re: Critical warning
Helps been given, either phone up or post on the VM forums, you have a fault so if the fault is only related to your line it won't fix itself.

Re: Critical warning
Each time I have phoned I get through to Bloody India. With my ears and age I can NEVER understand half of what they say. To get someone in UK I need a SOOTY WAND..

Once it's connected and got the time, then the timestamps after that will be correct, it would be trivial to retrospectively update the incorrect time stamps once the actual time has been discovered. |
Re: Critical warning
It's usually possible to tell when the error occurred because preceding and following events in the log will have valid timestamps, like this:
Code:
2021-3-17,8:47:26.0 2021-3-17,8:47:26.0 1 events critical 84000500 SYNC Timing Synchronization failure - Loss of Sync;CM-MAC=;CMTS-MAC=00:01:5c:7a:a8:53;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; |
Re: Critical warning
The U/S is still at 28dB but shouldn't be an issue. There is a small amount of un-correctable errors in the node, so again nothing much in the network. Levels at your device are good.

Re: Critical warning
I phoned Virgin today. Could not understand the bloke so he put me through to someone else. Is Everyone in UK at virgin staying home?? cant get to UK operator. Anyway was told there is a fault and should be fixed in 7 days. What a load of crap.
ANYWAY-I changed my Wireless password, switched off router then on about a dozen times, still getting 'Your internet connection is Unstable'. It loses connection then comes back on. Infuriating it is...I now can NOT get a WiFi connection on my phone via the hub. Keeps asking for password of which I keep putting in but no luck...All this since they Updated their CRAP WiFi. ---------- Post added at 14:57 ---------- Previous post was at 14:51 ---------- THAT--01/01/1970 has now gone. I find it rather strange it was there in first place. |

It will now have gone because it has been overwritten by newer events. Only the most recent few events are kept. |

Re: Critical warning
I have phoned them. They found a fault. No one fixed it yet SnoopZ
I have been through my Hub3 settings umpteen times, changed things in Windows10, put them back etc etc. Still the same. I used 'NetSpot' today and it said--No Connection. Check your Wi-Fi Adapter. I must have connection as I'm on Internet. My Phone connects to Virgin wi-Fi. Reason I am Baffled and asked in here as you lot are the Experts. I'm getting very slow Download late afternoons and at night. In Morning I'm getting Full speed. Is it possible that some can pull my signal away?? |
Re: Critical warning
It's possible that one of your neighbours has some faulty equipment that puts noise onto the network, but they don't have it switched on all the time.
|
Re: Critical warning
I thought of that, but No. Had a phone call from Virgin today that the repair is done. My speed is back up to 381 down and 37 odd up. NO drop out in Zoom or Facebook since.
Lets hope it stays this way. THANK YOU for the Help...I just wish I was a bit more techy lol |
Re: Critical warning
Thank you for the thank you.
