Virgin to create 500 call centre jobs

Perhaps now the penny has dropped that outsourced call centres are not the answer to everything.

A very welcome move, but how many of these UK centres will stay open after the CV situation is over, I wonder.

All of them I would think - they are already open, this is just increasing the numbers in them.

Some of their call centres are out of action because of the Coronavirus currently so trying to get through to them on phone can take up to a hour going by my own experiences so patience is required.

Webchat is a complete waste of time as there is no one that is going to reply to you apart from a automated bot.

As for Sky l suspect they generally have the same type issues one would imagine.

well the phone recording says you will have to wait up to 1hrs . I waited about 1h 30min & still no joy. I had to hang up the battery on my phone was running low sorry to say this is not good enough when you want answers to problems & you cannot contact them but they are quick enough to take your monthly subscription . think I will be going back to sky in the future for phone / bb / tv !

Why do you want to call them? We might be able to suggest another way to answer your questions.

Aye, Virgin Media are the worst of the lot (and that's saying something!) Their rating has been like this well before the effects of the pandemic took hold.

No worse then anybody else Richard and given the circumstances one must understand the unprecedented situations many companies find themselves in whether its here or in the rest of the world.

BT have worse scores on Trustpilot.

You say "potato", I say "potatto"... ;)

Scores for "Bad"
Sky - 81%
Virgin Media - 85%
BT - 90%

Scores for "Bad" & "Poor" combined
Sky - 86%
Virgin Media - 91%
BT - 93%

Scores....Exc....Great....Avg....Poor....Bad
BT...........4........1.........1........3.......9 0
VM..........3........2.........4........6.......85

I don't say either, Trustpilot does. Their star rating puts BT ahead of VM. Don't complain to me if you don't like their system of scoring.

Re: Virgin to create 500 call centre jobs

No complaint here - just clarifying a comment.

This explains how the scoring system works.

Star ratings are only one part of Trust Pilot.

They may well be but I would say they are the main part people take notice of.

I have no grudge with VM, I've been back with them about a year and was with them a few years ago. I've never had a problem with them and in fact have always been quite happy. It was pure cost that I left them for last time. And the shittyhub at the time.

well I was promise a £ 50.00 credit on my account to cover delivery & activation of my tv V6 box & new Hub 3 I self installed it ( I never received the credit ) & now massive pixilation on my TV so having to reboot the box every 2/3 days so I am furious that I cannot sort these problems out !

Have you looked at your My Virgin Media to see if a credit has been applied there?.

If not then keep on to them until the credit has been applied.

spiderplant 10-04-2020 10:18

Re: Virgin to create 500 call centre jobs

Pixellation is usually caused by a poor signal into the TV box. Make sure all the cable connectors are done up properly.

Re: Virgin to create 500 call centre jobs

I would never trust anything on trustpilot. They've had massive amounts of evidence given to them about bought/paid/bot reviews and ignored it. Hell, if you try to report fake reviews via their own website they threaten to ban you.

Scummier than ****.
